Version 146

Post by FTP-ashario » Fri Sep 07, 2012 2:58 am

Deployment date: Saturday 8 September

Tour/walkthrough for new players
Following a significant amount of effort from the members of The Newbie Guide Association, new users will be given a short walkthrough of the game upon logging in for the first time.

By default, the walkthrough is switched off for existing managers, but you can enable it via the 'In-game Tutorial' link on your profile page if you'd like to read the guide and perhaps provide feedback.

In the medium term a WIKI will be established and I anticipate things like an updated Newbie guide and some detailed articles discussing various aspects of the game will be produced.

New Nat Rankings System + World Cup Qualification
The senior World Cup at the end of this season will be the last in which all teams automatically qualify. Starting with the U19 World Cup in the following season, tour results (excluding T20) will count towards qualification, with the top 12 ranked teams qualifying for the World Cup.

The qualification points system will reset after each World Cup. Points will be earned for each win, loss or tie in competitive matches as follows.

Code: Select all

4 rankings points awarded for a win in div 1
3 rankings points awarded for a tie a div 1
2 rankings points awarded for a loss in div 1

3 rankings points awarded for a win in div 2
2 rankings points awarded for a tie a div 2
1 rankings points awarded for a loss in div 2

2 rankings points awarded for a win in div 3
1 rankings points awarded for a tie a div 3
0 rankings points awarded for a loss in div 3
Additionally, the number of promotion/demotion places in the nat leagues will double, from a one-up-one-down system to a two-up-two-down one.

Naming Bowling Ends
Pavilion Members will be able to name the two bowling ends at their ground (currently imaginatively called the 'Northern End' and 'Southern End' for all teams)
