Version 93

Post by FTP-ashario » Sun Jan 18, 2009 1:50 am

Deployment date: Wednesday 21st January

Included in this version

Increased importance of power for batsmen
Power will have an slightly increased influence on batsmen strike rates in all forms of the game.

Batsman intelligence adjustment
During an innings, the batsmen make decisions regarding how many risks they should take when setting or chasing a total. If only a few wickets have fallen, the batsmen will accelerate. If a few wickets have fallen recently, the batsmen will consolidate. If the batsmen are falling behind the required run rate, the batsman will try and increase the scoring rate.

The likelihood that batsmen will change their scoring behaviour based on the current match situation has been slightly reduced in version 93. This should hopefully result in a couple of changes to match results
a. Fewer batting collapses. Batsmen will take slightly fewer risks early and will instead be slightly more likely to conserve wickets and try to hit out closer to the end of the innings
b. Increase the importance of aggressive/defensive/normal batting orders. With the match situation having a lower influence on batter behaviour, the orders specified for each batsman will have a higher influence.

Realistic Bangladeshi Names
A completely new list of first and surnames has been implemented for Bangladeshi players.
Special thanks to gunda, rifact100, akib99, sidratul1997 and banglared for compiling this list.

A few more minor changes

Player Skills Summary
- the problem where ratings werent sorting properly on the match orders page for friendlies has been fixed
- player skills summary details on the player page now exclude fatigue

Transfer Search Page
- The game will remember the parameters you used for your most recent transfer and will populate the form with these details
- A 'Clear Form' button has been added
- 'seam' and 'spin' have been added to the bowler type dropdown list, so you can now search for 'seam bowlers' or 'spin bowlers' without specifying a particular type

GM Tools
- the 'adjust transfer' facility has received an upgrade

League Rankings Page
This page, which was made available to everyone for a short time, will be for Pavilion members only

Pavilion Members Feature: Player not sold message
An even will be recorded in the 'Team News' section for Pavilion members if a player they have transfer listed does not sell.
eg. "Jack Baillache failed to sell with a reserve price of $350,000"

One final, but perhaps significant change in version 93

The rules regarding the maximum bid a manager can place on a player has been changed. The value of pending sales will no longer be included when determining how much you can bid.

The main reason for this change is because currently a manager can pretty much bid whatever he likes when bidding on his own player, because all proceeds end up going to that manager. This has lead to some ridiculous bids by the owning team (one bid was more than 20 million).

The new rules when calculating the max affordable bid are

bank balance - current bids you have made on players = max bid allowed

eg
bank balance = 500K
you have a 200K bid on a player from another team
you have a 150K bid made by you on your own player
someone else has bid 300K on another of your own players

funds remaining for bidding = 500K - 200K - 150K = 150K

This change will remove what was I think a fairly major loophole in the transfer market.
