Friendly Matches

Postby Stuart7 » Thu Dec 06, 2018 9:16 pm

Ok, what about paying a nominal $250 for paying a friendly
match? Obviously we are restricted to how many friendly
matches that can be played in a week. I think this would
keep interest up in playing friendly matches as there is no
real incentive otherwise. Anyway, I am prepared to be shot
down in flames and probably will be. :whistle

Are you saying extra friendlies? So you can 3 in 1 day?

If so I think that would require real life money not in game money as it's extra strain on the server.
Maybe a platinum membership where you can have 3 games in a day?

No, I’m not. What I am suggesting is that we are paid
$250 for playing a friendly match. That way it may
kindle more interest in playing friendlies. I am definitely
not suggesting to play extra friendly matches, there
would be no point. The idea is that at the moment
there is nothing to gain from playing a friendly.

Learning, trying different things etc.

The game would punish the casual users if you paid money for a friendly. and $250 is going to do anything anyways. 1k a week 15k a season. Not worth the hassle to change it IMO.

What I’m saying, not very well I guess, is that the two
teams participating in the friendly could be paid $250 (or a sum to be agreed)
each for playing. No extra friendly matches in a day. It just seems
to me that there is no incentive to play friendly matches as at the
moment there is nothing to gain from them.

"From the Pavilion will always be completely free to play. Pavilion Membership is an entirely optional part of the game, designed to give managers a few extra features that make the game a little more fun."

By giving out money for friendlies, those with membership gain a distinct in game monetary advantage.

There's a lot to gain from friendly matches; preparation for an upcoming league match, trying out different orders, or simply going for bragging rights against a team that isn't in the same division or country as you so you don't get to play them outside of friendlies.

There are friendly competitions which hand out pavilion membership and game credits (I think?) for teams that do well in them, I guess there's an incentive to play a friendly comp

Pretty much what PB said
Members can play every spare day but non-members have to rely on a member challenging them on other days except Sunday
Whilst members should have more rights, I don't think this would be fair
Its not a silly idea but just wouldn't be right

Thank you all for replying. I am pleased that it isn’t a
silly idea. However I also see how it would work to
the advantage of a member. I will go back to the
drawing board and come up with something else :)
