Wow. So I have the top job.

I've gone through the squad, added a few, taken a few out but there are a few spaces up for grabs.

If you want an idea of what I am looking for, then here goes:

Primaries (batting/bowling/keeping/tech) - reliable+, preferably accomplished+ with one level gap for technique.
Endurance - average at a minimum (I will consider players with ordinary IF they have something that stands out), preferably reasonable.
Fielding - reasonable at a bare minimum (I will consider players with average IF they have something exceptional eg left arm wristie), capable is the standard I want, reliable+ is preferred
Power - I'm not expecting this to be trained at all at this level so don't worry about it.
Experience - average minimum (will consider ordinary as stated above), reasonable+ preferred. Give your youthies games!

I'm also in the process of sorting out some assistants. I've managed to find amcgrath1uk lazing around in the English countryside and enticed him to join me. However, please message me rather than him as he won't be able to answer queries quickly and I'll be that little bit quicker. Further assistants (if there are any) will be announced in due course.

So, good luck to us, and let's go win some World Cups!

1st game of the 1st tour and we beat Bangladesh by 34 runs.

Great performances by Captain Kinnear and Oakes with the bat, and pretty much all of the bowlers gave us the win.

Next game against the Irish, who were top rated after Day 1 but we left out our main bowlers as they were spinners so they will be very fresh for Day 2.

Very, very disappointed with today. Humiliating loss to Ireland.

3 games left, 3 must wins.

Maybe try the FTP Facebook page if he's on there?

I don't and I don't think Asa does either.

Starting to worry now though - he bought all the top English youths three seasons ago and that pretty much rips us apart if he goes bot.

Nothing I can do but watch. I'd be gutted if he does go though - both as the England manager and another player. Want players to stay around!

After last season, where I lost two of the top three waged players to bot, I really don't want to lose the top three this season!

Update:

We won the OD 1 league despite it being our worst pitches.

Now we move onto the OD World Cup as one of the favourites. Here's hoping for decent pitches!

So we got nowhere in the World Cup but this was mainly down to our bowling stocks. We were very finger spin heavy with weak pacemen options so when I saw 2x Flat and 2x Hard I knew we wouldn't be doing much and it showed. We scored the most runs in the group stages, which I expected as we were the strongest batting side by far, but the bowling let us down despite our best efforts.

Anyway, onto this season. I have a preliminary squad chosen but will have a closer look this week now that I have been chosen to continue in the top job. I am looking for one more assistant if anyone wishes to step up, and that role would be to look after the 18 year olds not already in the squad, along with other ideas I haven't fully fleshed out yet. You'll need to be willing to pull English youths and have some experience at D2 or higher in your respective club leagues. If you're interested, post here or IGM me.

Update for those following:

We have just lost five players I was taking to the WC as they have gone bot. Don't expect much.

A previous U19 manager left the game. During his term he bought all the best English players using his youth farm.

Needless to say the best 10 players aged 19/20 have just gone. Those 2 seasons for the NATs in a couple of years are also screwed, albeit not as bad.

He could have easily sold them all!

My memory is going as I can't remember who it was :doh
