Week 7, Idiot Alert

Postby eagles123 » Tue Dec 04, 2018 9:49 am

guess which idiot forgot to set a team for today's match!!! I was planning to chuck it and just play a whole bunch of youths, but now I've got a senior team out with my average summary bat opening the batting, and my ordinary summary bowler opening the bowling

great start to the week!!!

Lol :doh

Thankfully I remembered to pick a team, whether that matters is another thing!

Away in Uneven and Cloudy conditions while batting first after losing the toss.

93 for 5 after 17 then 94 for 9 from 18.3 :doh

Ended up 112 for 9 from our 20 after some fine last over slogging.

End of over 20 (12 runs) - Essex(159-7) RR 7.95

Fair to say that that was a shirt show. Wonder how many we'll be down before 50.

Papa Pneumatic Ruff Royals
Batting - Top Order 13,665 13,034
Batting - Middle Order 10,304 11,362
Batting - Tail 4,526 5,082
Bowling - Seam 12,821 (12) 13,075 (12)
Bowling - Spin 15,358 (8) 11,949 (8)
Fielding/Keeping 16,552 15,769
Overall 228,287 223,260

Ruff Royals won by 6 wickets.

Tough game but we got the win. A great 76 from Lucas of Papa Pneumatic but we managed to restrict them to 134 on a slow pitch. Rivaas our best bowler with 4-20. None of our batsmen were great but everyone contributed.

M. Chapman (rfm) 8-0-36-3, N. Hernandez 35 (38b)
End of over 40 (2 runs) - Ruff Royals(195-10) RR 4.88

Probably 20+ runs short at least. Best hit 38, Wilkins 45, Wall 31, and Hernandez 35 not out but no-one went on to make a really big score.

E. Perry (rm) 6-0-24-0, D. Chilvers 16 (13b), M. Joubert 22 (38b)
End of over 12 (3 runs) - Topmen(59-1). 137 runs required from 28 overs. RR 4.92 RRR 4.89

The wickets aren't falling and there isn't any real run rate pressure.

Ruff Royals Topmen
Batting - Top Order 5,717 5,966
Batting - Middle Order 4,846 4,845
Batting - Tail 3,293 3,355
Bowling - Seam 5,542 (28) 6,072 (28)
Bowling - Spin 4,872 (12) 6,634 (12)
Fielding/Keeping 5,899 7,462
Overall 96,537 106,900

Topmen won by 5 wickets.

Perhaps we had a chance when we reduced the to 83-3 but really it always felt they were in control of the game.

We're in the relegation zone now and there's a big game next week against 6th placed Captain Speccy's Muppets.

Batting first today in Sunny and Uneven conditions at Sparks gaff, our batsman are currently smashing it to all parts and at 38 for 7 we may even reach 50, a score I can't see our opponents getting close to...

put in to bat on sunny/sticky (would've batted anyway). managed to remember to set a team for this one, which always helps

going along quite nicely at the moment, 119-3 from 33. could do with upping the run rate slightly, but I'd say we're somewhat ahead of the game at the moment on sticky.

All I'll say is that there were a number of worried faces from my players when the drug testers turned up. Still, you're not too far behind Eggy's men.
