Will be touch and go whether we can defend this!

Opponents are 21 for 0 from 2 overs

Another loss methinks...

E. Perry (rm) 2-0-8-1, C. O'Keefe 6 (7b), R. Abell 1 (3b)
End of over 4 (4 runs) - The Cricket Club(17-3). 161 runs required from 36 overs. RR 4.25 RRR 4.47

A decent start to the bowling. The wicket of their captain, Linney, could be key.

End of over 20 (maiden) - The Cricket Club(57-5). 121 runs required from 20 overs. RR 2.85 RRR 6.05

Fantastic effort from the batsman. Really going to be a tight top of the table contest, this.

I'd be disappointed if we didn't win from here with the RRR pressure beginning to mount now.

That would be impressive but unfortunately my side didn't bowl well enough to get him those 25 balls. Or it could be clever thinking by my players that, knowing what damage he might do, they made sure to only take 8 wickets.

Ruff Royals won by 42 runs.

Ruff Royals The Cricket Club
Batting - Top Order 5,584 5,337
Batting - Middle Order 5,437 4,308
Batting - Tail 3,329 3,237
Bowling - Seam 6,166 (22) 6,227 (32)
Bowling - Spin 6,075 (18) 5,991 (8)
Fielding/Keeping 6,763 6,725
Overall 104,989 99,371

It turned out to be a great batting performance from Hernandez (70 not out) and Hodges deservedly got the MotM for his 52 not out plus his 3-26.

I think that means I've got an 8 point lead at the top and means I've got some decisions to make about whether I put a 16yo in the side for experience.

Well another hammering today, looks like it's division 4 next season for our boys

Thankfully we should be much stronger next season as we played 4 x 16, 1 x 17 , 5 x 18 , 1 x 19 year olds today, so fingers crossed we will come straight back up.

Bloody homegrown teams

End of over 13 (2 runs) - Ruff Royals(45-3) RR 3.46

A really bad start against the current top team Nottm Outlaws. We were 8-2 so I'm counting this as a bit of a recovery! I'm expecting to be outrated by about 30k so I'd be surprised if we got anything out of this game.

I didn't think we'd get to 100 when we were 51-4. We need to get to 180+ to give ourselves a chance. I'd be surprised if we got over 150 though.

End of over 46 (3 runs) - Ruff Royals(180-10) RR 3.91

Well we've given ourselves a chance even if it's just a slim one. A good 54 by Solomon, 20 for bowler Wright, and 27 not out for another bowler, Rivas.

Certainly a total that gives us a chance to defend, especially as our batting is the weak part of our team.

Very happy with our start especially from the opening attacking that had jabatito lads 20 for 3 and backed up by some very tight bowling by bowlers 3 & 4 certainly leave us in with a shout.

There was a great over of Diaz which has swung the game back in our favour; 2 wickets for Diaz plus a runout. Still need to keep the pressure on.

Put in to bat, we started poorly and were 68/4 after 15 overs. Huntingdon and Ankola rescued us a bit with a partnership of 132, and Ankola batted out the rest of the inning for 115! That set the Eggletons a below-par target of 286.

Eggs are currently 102/3 and starting to build a partnership. Extremely unlikely to be able to defend this one, but that's no great surprise given the oppo. Just hoping for some good individual performances.
