Not much he can do when he posted for assistants and no one applied! I have been Zimbabwe manager for last 6 seasons and despite repeated attempts I have only found 1 assistant so far. As for who voted for him- If the community had been active enough to even stand in the election you would probably have had competition. He is a division 1 youth manager for god's sake and has been a NAT assistant before taking over the job of manager.

Almost 6 months since anything has been said here... Ah well let's see if we can clear those cobwebs.

Firstly allow me to introduce myself - I am working with Ucansee and Boom with the Nat's with the job of youngster development so you will probably get a message from me from time to time.
My youth teams rank about 160 in the game and I have been playing for a few seasons. I have transferred one of my teams into Pakistan to keep a closer eye on things so to speak.

I want this to be a fun and yet sensible forum and definitely no grief and no hardliners.

More to come...

Hi,

Hope you have had a good week and hope you have a relaxing weekend and it might well be a long one where you might be.

Players of the week is something which I can do each week just to give a bit of praise to a random selection of good bits in the Pakistan scene.

16 year old player of the week
Jamal of Mithapur Lions = an absolute star in the making = an opener and wristy all rounder.

17 year old player of the week
Mahmood of Al Green's World. A prodigious batsman, who initially caught my eye for having reasonable batting, technique and fielding but when I saw that he scored 85 for his senior team on friday for their 50 over league game, he just had to get a mention here.

18 year old player of the week
Keeper Jahanzaib of Light Minded gets the mention here. A solid keeper with no weaknesses and a skilled batsman who, also, has performed well for his team this week with the gloves and bat.

In division 1, Lord of Cinders 10 wicket away win over Dingo Town caught my eye for team performance of the week.

Pakistan under 19s played a friendly today against Ireland. Pakistan made 239 for 7 with Chaudhary of Hasraz making 79 and Samad from Fasil scoring 70 not out. Ireland made the total with 4 overs to spare during which Al-Afasy of Al Khobar Falcons took 2 wickets for 41.

Hiya King,

Nope, don't need to pull each week... it's more of a 2 part thing... You get the pull and once you got a player who could "win" - like you have with the batting, it's then a case of training him up. More of a long term thing rather than a mad dash thing and also allows people to go and play in other nation's tournaments and come back to this.

Week 2 round up:

Sorry I am little late but I have been a little bit busy.

First of all, congratulations to Boom for winning senior elections. I really do hope your tenure goes well, I know that you will give it your all.

Game of the week:
a game in the lower leagues caught my eye this week. In division 4.7 Cricket Inc hosted Karachi Night Riders for this thriller.. match 4386740 Well done to both teams for such a good game.

16 year old player of the week:
I know he was pulled yesterday but Ghauri from Pakasheen really deserves a mention. A genuine fast bowler with no weaknesses to top up as he gets older. May I suggest get that fielding up followed by bowl tech and he will be a real gun :clap

17 year old player of the week:
Another fast bowler - Saleem of Nadeem Cheetahs who is developing very nicely and getting games for his club. Went through the mill in the Pavilion Cup but came back for his youth game mid week.

18 year old player of the week:
Najam, a batsman at Flaming Balls of Fury... a big week for him getting quick runs for his club's t20 game followed by a huge 130 not out later on in the week for the 50 over match.

International scene:
On saturday, we played a friendly against the Netherlands. We guttingly lost by 1 wicket but there were several good points in there. Ansari (54) and Waqas (119) shared a big 106 opening partnership, along with their own scores in a total of 245 for 7. Our bowlers gave it a go, Burfat 3 for 42, Mangal 3 for 36 and Ansari 2 for 43 being the wicket takers. Ansari chipped in earlier with 22 not out from 20 balls earlier with the bat too. Samad chipped in with the gloves being involved in 3 wickets - the perfect hatrick for keepers - stumping, catch and run out!

On the management side, we have "lost" Boom to the seniors but we welcome back Wmchamps. Early indicators are... hmm, picture a triangle, we each have our own ideas and can relate to each other on some points and the middle of the triangle being the best interests of the Pakistan team.

Competition:
Surprising amount of awesome pulls in the community for 16 year olds. I am seriously thinking of adding other prizes as other people are coming through with nice players - especially in the batting section.
Bowling is wide open still but there are great players coming through there too.

Ok, have a good week everybody and speak to y'all soon.
