Season 40 League and PC Discussion

Postby GM-crowfan65 » Wed Feb 06, 2019 1:36 am

Wow season 40, to think I started back in season 1

Anyways season kicked off last night with a win in T20, only div 3 but have a young side and a win's a win

Tonight have my first game back in div 1 youths, looking forward to the challenge

SOD on friday is also div 3, just want to maintain with the young lads as in T20

Good luck for the season, may all your academies be superior :whistle

Nice win first up in youths to kick div1 off in style, just want to maintain as a minimum so early wins are good wins

SOD starts tonight, same goes there with my young lads
Hopefully they are good enough to get the job done

I did not have nearly enough fire power to make it 3 in a row against Tempest in T20 D1. Survival here is going to be a major problem this season...

In YOD 2.2 I scraped through against Jaybone's youngsters despite a strong ratings difference after a huge onslaught by them in the final 5 overs.

Today in SOD 2.2 I am up against your man Choda which should prove to be an absolutely nail-biting affair where I just hope for my team to not completely fall of the rails...

I wonder if he has recovered from the last round last season
I am sure he is still fuming knowing him
He was hoping to stay up so three of my mates would be there

F. van den Berg (rfm) 10-0-70-3, B. Hicks 3 (6b), N. Van der Pluijm 115 (130b)
End of over 50 (8 runs) - Choda's Champions(261-7) RR 5.22

Very good total by Choda!

I had a good start but were then not able to get wickets for the remaining 2/3's of the match.

The chase is going to be tough and I just hope my boys don't fall apart...

B. Hicks (rfm) 6-0-30-4, H. du Plessis 5 (4b), F. de Vaal 1 (2b)
End of over 24 (5 runs) - Coastal Knights(121-6). 141 runs required from 26 overs. RR 5.04 RRR 5.42

After costing quite well, 4 quick wickets in the space of 3 overs leaves me in serious trouble!

A. O'Reilly (rf) 9-0-39-4, B. Mundy 2 (9b), A. Lockwood 2 (10b)
End of over 28 (2 runs) - Serial Killers(98-6). 122 runs required from 22 overs. RR 3.50 RRR 5.55

Should get the win in this one agst another mate
He focuses more on youths so kinda expected to win this one

Coastal Knights Choda's Champions
Batting - Top Order 12,809 12,940
Batting - Middle Order 10,172 9,967
Batting - Tail 5,994 4,069
Bowling - Seam 12,336 (30) 13,564 (20)
Bowling - Spin 13,096 (20) 12,646 (30)
Fielding/Keeping 15,218 14,421
Overall 218,763 212,165

Result: Choda's Champions won by 76 runs

Exceptional win by Choda!

I was unable to take wickets when I needed to and my best bowler did not even bother to show up for the match.

I had the most ridiculous collapse in the final 2 overs with 14 runs required to lose my T20 against Superboyz yesterday!

In fairness he was rated better by a fair amount.

Right now my youths are having a tough battle against Quad...

Two matches in a row now where I get shafted by big collapses with 2 overs to go!

Quad Coastal Knights
Batting - Top Order 5,314 6,649
Batting - Middle Order 4,057 4,676
Batting - Tail 2,870 3,477
Bowling - Seam 4,702 (16) 5,383 (24)
Bowling - Spin 6,636 (24) 6,738 (16)
Fielding/Keeping 5,671 6,946
Overall 92,421 106,202

Result: Quad won by 5 runs

This one I should honestly have won comfortably, but batting 2nd in the humid weather was always going to be hard.

Batting - Tail 3,674 3,456
Bowling - Seam 6,416 (28) 5,601 (32)
Bowling - Spin 5,824 (12) 6,847 (8)
Fielding/Keeping 6,308 6,563
Overall 102,301 102,424

Big loss in SODs but well out-rated so to be expected sometimes

5/6 this season in league games so not complaining

Have had a decent start to the season. 2/2 in both SOD and T20 and 1/2 in Youth. Fielding a weak side in PC right now, however it looks the opposition has done the same. Possibly going to Round 3 there.
