Few things to clear up:
1. It has come to my attention that some of my IGM's have been taken out of context. My message to a select few managers about their SA 16yo players (about 3 or 4 of them) was because I wanted to buy them for my own teams as they are good players. At no point in my message to those managers did i indicate that i was suggesting they sell them because they can't provide a good home for them and therefore should sell the player. That thought never actually crossed my mind.It was 100% because I want the player for my team because they are good players, just like I message other non-SA managers about players of other nations that I'd like to buy. It is purely an enquiry to see if they want to sell the player.
2. Three spinners on tour is out of sheer necessity. We literally only have 2 good spinners. That's it. The 3rd one that I have selected (Shezi) is an 18yo that isn't ready to tour but given our lack of depth of spinners he gets the call up. His AR abilities will also help a little too. To pick the 4th,5th,6th best spinners in our squad would be to take Capable primaries/summaries (with very poor secondaries) over Reliable/Accomplished seamers. The gap is too great to be taking such inferior spinners on tour regardless of pitches. My hope was to get a couple of Slow pitches to balance it out but as luck would have it we have 3 Dry and 2 Crumbling. We must make do with what we have.
3. I have been asked what my advice is for those managers pulling for SA and what my preference is. That is mostly a personal club level decision based on what your club squad needs. I personally pull General but each to their own. South Africa, like most other nations has a large enough pulling pool that by the end of each season the bases are covered for batsmen and bowlers etc.

Going forward if anyone in the SA community, or anywhere in the game, has a question to ask or would like some advice then please come directly to me via an IGM or I am on the Discord also. Or simply ask in this forum thread and I'm more than happy to engage in conversation about any concerns or questions you have.
Cheers Simmo

A. Charles (rf) 5-0-23-0, J. Bayvel 19 (37b), R. Boulter 24 (23b)
End of over 10 (2 runs) - South Africa U19(46-0) RR 4.60

Solid start. Lost the toss and sent in. Dry pitches not my favourite so lets hope the boys can put up a good score 1st up

A. Bernard (rfs) 7-0-21-1, R. Boulter 49 (54b), W. Kops 37 (39b)
End of over 25 (6 runs) - South Africa U19(127-1) RR 5.08

Always more wickets to fall in the 2nd half of an innings on a dry so i'm happy with that platform

Decent score to defend but was a little bit disappointed given we were 1-127 at the drinks break so our bowlers will need to perform now. A lot will depend on our 3rd spinner in Shezi. If he doesn't go for too many runs then we are a chance

C. Peryman (rf) 8-1-24-0, M. Harris 33 (78b), P. Richmond 25 (34b)
End of over 34 (4 runs) - Bermuda U19(128-5). 135 runs required from 16 overs. RR 3.76 RRR 8.44

Game well and truly in hand now, good overall performance, we would love the RR pressure to force a bit of a collapse to save some fatigue for the spinners with all 3 of them playing today

It should be an interesting time off the pitch too today between The Witchdoctors and de Beer squad, the respective official fan clubs.
wa Njuguna has called heads correctly and has decided to bat. Kenya U19 will start their innings shortly.
The weather for the match is expected to be Humid and the groundsmen have prepared a Crumbling pitch. Conditions look ideal for the spinners, ideal for the seam bowlers.

Bowling 1st today
