A nice knock from our finisher Van Straaten with his first century. After a simple catch and not getting called on to bowl the valiant lad went on to prove his value in the side with an unbeaten 111 and win the game.

Des Wynand from shannu's_proteas was the star performer in our last match of the tour. He produced his 2nd 5 wicket haul in int cricket , a run out and lastly unbeaten for a single.
In a somewhat disappointing season we have seen a few players shine and Madder must be sorely satisfied with getting us to div3 in such a short time span.

Well he did start there in OD, so wasn't a massive fall

You could well be right, however i do believe he had success that tour as the squad had been handed over in good order. The squad he selected at the completion of that tour after promoting was very disappointing. I don't mind you trying to defend his actions in his absence, it wasn't a massive fall as you say. div 3 to 2 and back to 3 in the OD and U19 Twenty div1 to div3 is still disappointing, like i said.

I would be disappointed with the results as much as I have been with ours this season but a whole lot of accusations have been flying around that haven't or can't be proven so best to just put it behind us now and move on to the election in a months time

Well said HB although i believe crowfan is only commenting to stir the pot, comparing offstagefrog with madders performance is out of nowhere.

I call it observation more than accusation as no one is suggesting anything about breaching the rules. The subject has been aired in the south african forum not the general forum, not abusive nor inflammatory. surely it is a subject that can be discussed in our own community.

I am not commenting only to stir the pot and HB, I know all the accusations as you well know and I certainly wasn't comparing offstagefrog's frog performances to here, I was just highlighting that things can go wrong regardless. We are one of the highest rated sides but still ended up going from div 1 to div 3 in one season, plus I am as much to blame for that as he is.
One thing about U19 is next season we all start again with a completely new squad and anything can happen

Fair enough, although i do believe this is the right place for it to be discussed in a decent manner.

I do agree, next season is all new. with only 3 div nothing need be long term. I know your an aussie supporter but your walkabouts always seem to return you to sth africa. is there a way to convert you to pulling sth africans and helping us out a bit.
I'll concentrate on my own side for change. :)

I have mates that play here and only left when I wanted a different game time due to my lifestyle at the time
And sorry no chance on being on your side of the fence, Aussie through and through but you will see by my posts in the main forums about the number of players for each country across the age groups that my main aim is the game as a whole. I will do my best to encourage anyone that may listen to support those nations at the lower end of those tables.

A new season and not much has changed. Hopefully a better manager can be found at the next election.
Our first friendly for the upcoming season and we toss in a group of 20 yr olds and cant even be bothered to select a decent captain.
It will be good if the community can get active and help get our youth back on track.
