Well SA got through the international season pretty well up to expectations and look poised for some more success next season in the new U20 comp. Trystman, Boulter, Kusano and Hammelmann all made good individual batting contributions in excess of 200 runs in the 2 OD tours.
Frankish 15, Routledge 12 and Berger 10 wickets also accounted for half of the wickets taken by our bowlers.
Tsvanhu, Gibbs and Pamenter no doubt will be fighting it out for the keeping role.

Simmo will have a big job ahead selecting the best attributes in the new season. It will be interesting to see where most of the training goes for the 20 yr olds.
Will managers train primaries up further or remain training fielding for that season? Whats peoples opinion? :think
Lastly, with only 1 t2o tour each season does anyone else think that tour could be better used for U19 players to get some early exp for the U20 OD comp?

That makes sense with the experience. I don't quite agree about the fielding. Not sure but i'd think most countries have a good number of 19 yr olds with reliable fielding by the end of the season. The higher the quality of the match (ie reflected by match ratings), the higher a fielder's fielding level needs to be in order to pass a skill check. In the past capable fielding was handy and reliable a good bonus to the side. For the extra season up to U20 I thought the new goal might be reliable for a handy contribution. Kusano is 18 with reliable fielding and he has another 2 seasons ahead in the U20 squad. Theres enough time in there to get fielding up 1 more level.

Yes, I guess its all a matter of opinion for now. Its the U19 T20 WC at the end of this season and then U20 OD WC after season 43 isn't it?

For as long as I can remember management have been enthusiastic to include the SA community in the forum with some training tips and feedback and a benchmark to aspire to for the clubs star and national side.
With the extra seasons training I would imagine that benchmark will have varied.
Any advice from Simmo, Werdo or Worm?
I'll hope to be recruiting this season and would find something like that helpful.

thanks worm. I value your opinion and probably agree. it'll be interesting how it goes. I can imagine some high primary players may be produced too. those gifted in a primary may well reach outstanding++ given the right training. There are quite a few options available for specialist players, more so now with the extra season as a junior.
whats others thoughts?

Just a quick post to remind everyone that myself and my assistants are always available and willing to chat regarding any questions you may have. Always happy to chat if you require any training guidance, whether it be player specific or general in nature, even if it's as simple as when is the most efficient time to train each skill etc.
Also very happy if you have a player that you think is close to Nat selection but just falling short. I have contacted some managers about this previously but if there is any manager out there wanting to know what area their player is falling short in just drop me a message and we can discuss privately.
Lastly we have had a decent start to the recruiting so far this season. Keep up the great work and thanks for supporting SA!
Cheers Simmo
