Yes, you are correct.

We're 14th on 7 points, the max we can get is 17 (with 5 wins). And we need to overtake 2 teams:-

Zimbabwe are in Group 2, so the minimum for them is 13 points (with 0 wins). Fortunately they have already lost 2 games.
New Zealand are in Group 2, so the minimum for them is 13 points, but they play each other so one must make 15 (& NZ have already beaten Zim), If NZ win one more they are out of reach (as they will finish higher on the current tour).

Netherlands & UAE are already out of reach.

That leaves Bermuda and we are now tied on points with them.

So we need to win another 3 matches and Zimbabwe need to lose 2 of their remaining 3. If we lose 1, then if either Zimbabwe win 1 or Bermuda win their last 3. That's it.

So we are edging closer with a 4th win out of 4.

Bermuda have 6 points from the tour. Zimbabwe have 5 automatically. We have 8 points.....so Bermuda & Windies are tied on 15 points. A Zim win today will also tie them on 15 points, with 1 game left.

There needs to be 6 teams not qualifying: Pakistan, South Afirca, USA, Sri Lanka and 2 from Bermuda, Windies and Zim. All the other teams have already qualified.

If tied on points, the order is decided by final placings on this tour. Zim will win any ties being in Div 2. So:-

1. If Zim win both games, they qualify whatever happens
2. If Zim win 1 game and we win the last game, Windies qualify
3. If Zim, Bermuda and Windies all lose our last games, Windies qualify

So I make the probability 0.5*0.5 + 0.25*0.5*0.5 = 5/16s. Still less than 50% but rather better than when the tour started.

With Zim winning game #4, we need them to lose their final game and for us to win. Odds are easy 1/4.

So after two tours, we have won 8 and lost 2. Coming second narrowly in OD 1.1 (following USAgate) and gaining promotion in T20. Unfortunately the T20 performance was not quite enough to drag us into the qualification places for the T20 WC. So we'll have to sit that one out.

We have toured with 30 players (so only 6 players going on both tours) with ages from 25 to 31. The average age of the 30 tourers is 28. so we have squad depth and a number of players that will be around for a few seasons.

Some of the players that toured in T20 are not (to be brutally honest) quite ready for Senior Nats, but they could well be ready for the OD WC at the end of next season.

The next OD will be seeking to win the OD title, having just missed out last time. So you can expect to see some older players coming back. For one or two this may be their last tour for the Nats following seasons of dedicated service.

Lastly, we are a bit short of Assistants; if anyone is interested, pls drop me an in-game mail.

Fresh from a successful tenure as u19 manager, meinkadett has agreed to join the senior team as an assistant.

Great news as we plan/hope/dream to sweep all before us during season 36.

The venue and pitches for the first OD tour will be published at 00:00 later. It's been a quiet period for the senior team as we just failed to qualify for the T20 World Cup. However as the #1 ranked OD side we will be challenging again for a 1.1 title. The touring party will be announced on New Years Eve with the tour starting on 8th Jan.

Here's hoping that everyone has a great day today.

Having been completely annihilated in game #1, we have managed to win the next 3 and have what amounts to a play off against England for second place starting at 02:00 on 12th Jan.

We've done OK this tour but it might not be good enough to keep the #1 ranking as UAE have swept all before them.

We just played 5 all-rounders in a Nat OD friendly to see how high ratings would go. Did they indeed...

West Indies Bermuda
Batting - Top Order 15,516 14,246
Batting - Middle Order 15,902 11,722
Batting - Tail 12,998 5,602
Bowling - Seam 14,974 (40) 15,468 (30)
Bowling - Spin 14,052 (10) 14,888 (20)
Fielding/Keeping 18,325 16,917
Overall 293,592 247,612

Highest ever ratings in any format and with 8 of the team aged under 30.... 300,000 is possible.
