Each team have 10 wickets. So other team has to keep taking 'wicket' of other team while bowling. Batsman are more precious wicket then bowlers.

So you are right in your description as wicket is number of players who score runs.

Their answer was "the Playground". Here in Germany, noone knows cricket really good, so noone dared to complain but as im playing the pavilion now, i would have said "this is wrong". Or isnt it? I Thought, a Wicket is the amount of players, that didnt had to go to the pitch due to the second team won with reaching an higher amount of runs as the beginning team? So my question is... is there more than one situation, where you speak about a wicket? it would be nice, if you help the Sportsnewbie.

A wicket refers to the dismissal of a player batting.

It is also often used in reference of the pitch.

It can refer to the stumps or the partnership for a set of batsmen.

Condolences to all of New Zealand with this very tragic incident.

I believe the Bangladeshi team was very close to the mosque when it occurred...
