Assume you're talking about CC there. It now has one day games (and has for a while) but the 4 day games are still its strength. You can change your tactics each session, and there are many tactics to choose from (go more aggressive when you've passed a certain total, or less aggressive against an opponent's star bowler, etc). Great for tactical buffs, but you're right, it only appeals to a fairly small market so it's never grown larger than a few hundred users.

In general cricket management games are struggling. Battrick is certainly dying and FTP is arguably in danger of following if something doesn't halt the slide. The alternatives are CC and Stumped, but both are probably too intensive for a casual user so have small user bases. It might just be a sign of the times.
