Just an Idea at this point

Post by GM-crowfan65 » Mon Feb 19, 2024 10:08 am

For most of my time in charge we have been changing things heading towards a goal in my head (on paper) that I would like to achieve.
In recent times we have changed tack to look at the bigger picture and perhaps be a little more open with things hence the change to nat teams and leagues recently. More leagues and teams may be some way away but if we don't discuss or start things now then it is X more seasons before we can get there. SO with that in mind I would like to discuss changing some match times a little, remember this is not a definite thing just want to discuss it openly.
The goal is to close up some gaps and increase the down time to allow for more processing then and less during the actual times when leagues run.
Also closer to the end goal if we do get more leagues.
I can say openly that we will not trim divisions to less than 4 to bring in new countries.
The table below shows the country, old start time and new proposed time.

Code: Select all

Ireland 11:30	10:30
Netherlands	12:00	11:00
Zimbabwe	13:00	11:30
West Indies	15:00	14:00
Canada 16:00	14:30
Have a vote, leave your thoughts if you feel the need.
The more managers involved the better.

As someone who plays in Zimbabwe (albeit actually living in the UK), I'd be perfectly happy if game times moved a little earlier so they don't coincide with my lunch break at work, which means I often forget to change my lineup in time!

Hilariously niche reason for wanting the games moved, but I'm onboard :)

Ok with the time change..It will also help me to have a go at the orders..So another doubt..will this change have a ripple effect of the update schedule??

Happy with both Zim and WI. Based in GMT+1.

Yes but we are reviewing all of them also to try to get the balance right

Happy with Zimbabwe it’s much better and more realistic than it was before. One day matches in Zimbabwe usually start at 10 AM which is GMT + 2 so this is slightly closer to when it should be and is easier for me to follow games.

a west coast of North America timeslot would fill a gap - the latest currently is Canada at 16:00 which 8am PST.
An hour or two later would be nice. Current proposal to go earlier would not help anyone in Vancouver/San Francisco/LA - lots of cricket-playing expats in all of these places.

I’d be happy for Zimbabwe’s to move to 11:30. Selfish reason of being able to follow my team more before going to bed 🤣

I based the USA time on the east coast with the HQ in Dallas and the 3 grounds for the WC in Dallas/Florida/NYC
If 16:00 is 8am PST then wouldn't NZ be appealing with 2pm PST or Aust 4pm even Bang at 6pm, the later ones after dinner time if they wanted to 'watch' at night.

Yes, NZ is the best fit currently.

I live in the UK and my two teams are in Canada (main) and Netherlands (affiliate) - I am happy with both changes, the Netherlands one won't make any difference to me, and I would actually prefer the Canada one being moved forward, especially when the switch to DST happens in the UK as 4pm becomes 5pm start time).

Just to say that the vote will only let me cast one vote - I have voted yes to Canada, but also wish to vote yes to Netherlands.

I changed to to 2 now if people want to vote in more than 1 due to main and affiliate
