Former Star players

Post by Challanger » Mon Mar 18, 2024 5:06 pm

Where are they NOW ?
Back in 2013 I sold Hayden Jaguar for an amazing amount of money , which I used to build my affiliate team .

Nov/2013 Hayden Jaguar Mombasa Massive> Saints' Sixers 16 $2,750,000 29,312
Since then he went to The Tonkers Oct/2017 29 $173,643 73,361 >now(computer controlled
Now at Millimetre Wave CC Jan/2019 33 $1,000 66,022>now(computer controlled
Where he currently uses a zimmer frame for running beween the wks.
As sad ending for a STAR player.
Anybody else got a story ?

Darren Guthrie is currently buried under the pavilion named after him.

He left behind 3 children, none of them any good with the bat or ball so they were disinherited and the inheritance was donated back to the club.

Richmond Dudley was my first decent youth pull, 28,607 and was sold straight away to fund future programmes in Dec 12 2013. He was sold for a club record $1,269,860 to the joy of all involved in our great club. The joy was short lived for Richmond, as he only played until January 17 2014, when his new club was hit with mounting debts and all players were told their careers were over and to join Centrelink.

Our biggest purchase happened on 23 April 2020, when Big Hitting Gavin Mullet was bought for a record $638, 713. Gav scored his first youth century on December 1 2020 and helped the team to reach Australia division 1 youth glory, of about mid table. A spectacular season. Gav was sold for a record loss of $637 713 at the end of his youth career on September 23 2021.

Gav's career was short lived once playing with the big boys, he failed to deliver on his early promise and was often called Gav the battered Sav, for walking on the pitch, facing the odd ball, ducking into bouncers leaving battered and bruised for 0 runs. At 23 years of age, at a rating of 48,000, addicted to crack, Gav's cricket days were over.

Our best home grown superstar - Tim Southee (Currently aged 30y12w at 72,276) who is still playing hard cricket for the National Team of New Zealand and starring in Division 2 with Allmanna

Tim was sold at the end of his youth career on May 6, 2021 to Allmanna for $428,837 at a rating of 48,108, what an absolute bargain. Tim is a right arm fast medium bowler with amazing career stats;

Bowling/Fielding

One Day 171 8933 93 6151 289 6-29 21.28 4.13 30.91 40 3 64 0 0 7
Twenty20 151 3195 13 3565 164 5-1 21.74 6.69 19.48 13 3 36 0 0 8

What a champion.

My first youth recruit Charles Smith. He was my keeper batsman, an "accumulator" who is my all time club MVP. He enjoyed tours with the Sth African U19 side and at the age of 29 was selected to tour with the senior Sth African T20 tour.
A day after his last senior OD match before leaving on the T20 tour an email from a foreign club arrived advising me Charles was seeking an immediate release to play for another club. I received $315k... and Charles with his 72032 rating points played a couple of games on tour and then never played another match. Nor was he ever seen again.

All-rounder Denver Ransford. Sold pretty much immediately for a then club record of just under 300k to VR_X11 (now bot). Turned out to be a good investment for them, as a few seasons later they sold him on for nearly twice the amount to Swamp Dwellers (also now bot). Played pretty much his entire senior career for them, but strangely never made the NAT scene. Sold rating >70000 at 30, and played for another two seasons, for two different clubs.

More recently boundary hitter Philip Salt, also sold immediately for 325k. Turned out to be a much better bit of business for me as he's passed through 4 clubs for ever decreasing transfer fees, and was last picked up by Div 4 Salland CC for a meagre 4k. He did manage to play a couple of U20 matches for England though, which perhaps shows how little quality youths can be now worth once they reach maturity!!!

Former Pakistan NAT keeper Yusuf Ahmed was my best ever pull in terms of highest current rating.
https://www.fromthepavilion.org/player. ... Id=2125673

Only played for main teams and for Aggressive Vegetables CC (madcarrot's old team) before retiring.
Was fairly consistent with the bat but we unfortunately had to sell due to finances, however he was a key contributor in our only OD Division 1.1 win back in season 48.

Another former Pakistan U19 keeper Feroz Wasim was my best ever pull in terms of original ratings, but he is still actively playing for South Yorkshire CC so he could still go on to beat Yusuf Ahmed's record of being the best every player from my academy.

Also had to sell him due to finances, but he was a big part of us maintaining our Division 1 spot in YOD for a few seasons.
