Netherlands vs Australia Friendly

Post by Abeeshake002 » Sat Jan 27, 2024 6:06 am

In a cricket match between the Netherlands and Australia, the Netherlands emerged victorious by 5 wickets in a closely contested battle. Opting to bowl after winning the toss, the Netherlands displayed a strong performance to restrict Australia to a total of 237 runs in 47.4 overs.

Australia's innings saw notable contributions from T. Breen, who scored 51 runs, and W. Payton, who added 57 runs to the total. However, the Netherlands' bowlers, including J. Halbertsma, S. Whitlock, and Z. Cordy, put up a commendable performance, taking crucial wickets at regular intervals to keep the Australian scoring in check.

In response, the Netherlands showcased their batting prowess with A. Aduard leading the charge with a solid 56 runs. Yoeri Cohnen's impressive innings of 91 runs and Glenn Goddard's valuable 49 runs further bolstered the team's pursuit of the target. Despite some resistance from the Australian bowlers, the Netherlands managed to achieve the target with 6 overs to spare, finishing at 238 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 44 overs.

Walter Payton's outstanding all-round performance earned him the well-deserved title of Man of the Match.

Scotland vs Netherlands U20 Friendly

Post by CricketGodMate977 » Sat Jan 27, 2024 12:46 pm

It was a close encounter for the U20 team today, going down by 2 wickets against Scotland.

The Dutch won the toss and elected to bat, managing to post 199 from their 50 overs. In all honesty, this felt like a below par score with none of our batsmen able to get past the 50 run mark. Louis Krompkamp was the highest scorer, getting 49 off 64 balls. Koos Kwistel made a handy 43 batting at number 7 in his international friendly debut. Chubby Cox was the best for the Scottish bowlers, finishing with figures of 3 for 41.

It was a promising start for the Dutch with the ball, with Boudewijn Hylkema striking in the 6th over to have Scotland 1 for 24. He finished with game best figures of 3 for 19 from 8 overs. It was Roy Donachie who made the difference in the end, getting an 88 ball 69 to see the Scottish get home in the 41st over.

Scottish skipper Chubby Cox was awarded Man of The Match for his 3 wickets, a run out and an unbeaten 19 off 13 balls.

Definitely some positive things to take out of the game, with a couple of new faces playing today. The players are looking forward to a couple more friendlies leading up the first official One Day tour game on February 13th.
