Struggling with the bat in our first friendly of the new season:

M. Lakshman (lws) 5-0-27-0, O. T'oolan 6 (6b), M. Deely 0 (5b)
End of over 30 (1 run) - Australia(145-5) RR 4.83

Skennar and Annette both getting starts but not converting into big scores so far

Couldn't manage a big enough total in our first friendly vs. Sri Lanka.

A couple of good individual performances from Skennar and Manou were about the only highlights. Mucked around with some different options with the bat this game rather than stick with the usual crew of Crane, Serval etc.

Sri Lanka won by 4 wickets

Sri Lanka Australia
Batting - Top Order 14,967 14,469
Batting - Middle Order 12,008 12,869
Batting - Tail 6,034 5,833
Bowling - Seam 15,057 (40) 14,822 (40)
Bowling - Spin 14,791 (10) 16,467 (10)
Fielding/Keeping 17,076 17,412
Overall 252,255 254,847

I guess he is that standard, but I just always saw my Senior players as 'not quite top tier' lol. Nice to see one of our guys get a chance!
Did ok too!! I think he is quality and only 29 also

Australia Bermuda
Batting - Top Order 14,390 14,099
Batting - Middle Order 11,030 12,563
Batting - Tail 4,503 4,802
Bowling - Seam 13,949 (40) 14,218 (30)
Bowling - Spin 13,646 (10) 14,494 (20)
Fielding/Keeping 17,117 16,981
Overall 235,985 243,639

Had another friendly on the weekend this time against Bermuda. With Bermuda being one of the teams we are playing against in the upcoming tour we went with some guys that don’t usually play. On a hard deck batting first we we didn’t put up a big enough total and left too much for the bowlers.

Congrats to Slim Chyer (Team Envyus) and Ahilen Davison (Caribbean Pirates) on making there senior Nat debuts

Hi all,

We will be looking to take a different approach this season for our upcoming T20 Tour by including some of our Younger "High Potential" squad members as we try and combat our rapidly aging current Touring Teams. We have some great players coming through in their mid to late 20's who require some much needed experience pops to get them ready for future One Day Tours (and hopefully World Cups).

So over the next few months you will see us look to transition some younger members into the team, please let us know if you have anyone you would like us to look at.

Thanks for all your support.

Unfortunately couldn't get up in our first game of the Senior One Day Tour against Zimbabwe yesterday as we were probably a little short with the bat only managing to scrape together 177 all out in the 46th over..

Zimbabwe Australia
Batting - Top Order 15,760 15,425
Batting - Middle Order 14,046 12,858
Batting - Tail 6,504 6,057
Bowling - Seam 14,985 (20) 14,877 (20)
Bowling - Spin 15,091 (30) 16,332 (30)
Fielding/Keeping 16,486 18,018
Overall 263,438 264,111

Zimbabwe won by 3 wickets

Hopefully we can turn it around against Canada in today's game!

First win on the board for the week and pretty happy to get a win on a Flat pitch, the bowlers did the job with consistent wickets to keep them to 7/285 - which we managed to chase with 2 overs to go.

Batting - Middle Order 12,131 13,995
Batting - Tail 5,114 6,151
Bowling - Seam 14,412 (40) 14,549 (40)
Bowling - Spin 15,651 (10) 15,994 (10)
Fielding/Keeping 17,215 17,444
Overall 247,238 259,821

Result:
Australia won by 4 wickets

Hi all,

After a disappointing season, we have had quite a few changes with the National team of late for those following. A huge welcome to Chezza as part of the team, who's already having a great impact on the overall squad after a tough first season.

We have also moved on several of our long serving National squad members and have brought in several newer players as we push forward for the future. Thanks to their managers for supporting Australia and doing such an outstanding job getting them Nat ready previously.

Also a big thanks for the support to all the managers who have shared and agreed to assist with player training plans moving forward.

Last but not least to crowfan, thanks for the countless messages back and forth (mainly listening to me complaining) and the ongoing help and support.

Looking forward to a much more productive season 38!

Managed to get a win on the board for the first game of the Senior One Day Tour last night vs. Bangladesh.

Exciting to see some of our newer squad members included performing well.
