I think I’m a shoe in for the pommy cricket team, being that I’m foreign and that should be enough to get me in

English speaking South Africans do not have a British accent. There are a few who do try very hard to hang on to the old Empire though.

Now, Afrikaans speaking South Africans do in general have a very unique accent when speaking English, which is why they were regarded as the group with the sexiest accent in the world, until recently when dethroned by the Kiwis for some crazy reason.

I mean, saying a Kiwi has a sexy accent is like saying an Ozzie has a sexy accent, and that is just ridiculous!

Keep in mind South Africa is a nation with 11 official languages.

He puts voices on for shows, he speaks like an Aussie which is a whole lot better than that gutteral one your home country produces

In all honesty he does not sound like the typical Aussie who uses the word "here" for "year" but rather someone with a hybrid accent from where he spent most of his life.

Keep in mind that Kevin Pietersen is very much an English speaking South African and there is a stark contrast between them and the Afrikaans speaking South Africans, but not to the point of sounding British, apart from the few who do not know where they are and want to be in life.

Afrikaans speaking South Africans who spend a lot of time in English speaking environments like our fellow cricketers also do not sound like the typical Afrikaans speaking South African. They also adopt more of a hybrid accent.
