21 Nov 08 00:00 - Sri Lanka: Season 3 trophies redone
During the end of season updates last season, it was discovered that some trophies in Sri Lanka were awarded twice.

This problem proved to be a hell of a lot harder to fix that I anticipated!, and it is only today that I have been able to delete the old trophies, correct the issue, and redistribute season 3 trophies in Sri Lanka.

All Sri Lankan teams earning season 3 trophies should now have the duplicate ones removed. Thanks to doof92 for originally reporting the problem (and no doubt assuming I ignored him at the time :) ).

Apologies for the delay.

11 Nov 08 00:00 - Spamming other managers
Recently we have seen an increase in the number of managers sending out mass messages to other managers indicating they have a player on the transfer market.

Please be aware that sending these types of unsolicited messages is considered as spamming and will not be tolerated. If you have a player for sale and want to advertise, please use the player ads forum.

If you receive one of these spam messages, please report it via the Help -> Contact Admin Team page and the admin team will deal with it.

In the future, any managers found to be spamming other managers will receive a fine. Continued spamming will result in account closures.

So, lets all make this game a spam-free community :)

10 Nov 08 00:00 - Inaugural World Cup
This off season will see our very first senior World Cup competition being played. The groups have been decided and the fixtures have been created. The first pool matches will be held on Sunday November 30, with the final being held on Monday December 8.

You can follow all of the details via the Country -> World Cup page, or by going directly to the page here.

India has been selected as host for the tournament. Given that both Pavilion Cup finalists are from that country, it seemed only fair to award them hosting rights :)

Future World Cups will involve some form of community based bidding and voting process. Next season it will be the turn of the U-19 nat managers to take part in their own world cup.

Further details regarding the format of the tournament can be found in this post on the game forums.
05 Nov 08 00:00 - Version 87 - Suggested Lineups and Academy Investment
Version 87 was installed over the weekend and contains the following 3 main items:

Suggested Lineup A new button, 'Suggested Lineup' has been added to the match orders page. Clicking this button will result in your assistant selecting a suggested lineup for your team.
Your assistant will select 5 batsman, 5 bowlers and a wicketkeeper. This feature is intended to help out new players who may need some assistance when creating a lineup for a match.

Changes to player form
Before version 87, the weekly form update resulted in the vast majority of players hovering between average and capable form during the season. As of version 87, form will fluctuate more, and it will be more likely for a player form to move below average or above capable.

Academy Investment
- The maximum limit of $100K that is imposed on academy investment has been removed. Teams are now able to waste...oops...invest more than 100K a week into each of their academies.
- There is a new field, 'Status', displayed on the youth and senior training pages. The status field indicates the direction in which your academy is likely to move given the current weekly investment.

Hopefully, this should remove a lot of the confusion associated with academy investment and its affect on your academy level.

Further detail can be found in this post on the game forums.
27 Oct 08 00:00 - Computer controlled teams
Today sees the implementation of 'smart' default lineups for computer controlled teams, and for human controlled teams that don't have a default lineup and forgot to set orders for a match.

In the past where no default lineup existed and no orders had been set, 11 players would be selected in alphabetical order, regardless of skill levels. Now, the game constructs a much more realistic lineup.

This should result in computer controlled and otherwise inactive teams being a little harder to beat from now on.
26 Oct 08 00:00 - Organised Friendlies: Cup Fixtures
Fixtures for Thursday 30th October have not yet been created for some organised friendly cup competitions.

This should be fixed sometime on Monday 27th October. Update: Monday 2:30. should be OK now
