Version 94

Post by FTP-ashario » Wed Feb 11, 2009 5:46 am

Deployment date: Monday 16th Feb

Included in this version

Match engine bugfix: Chasing totals in the early overs
During match engine testing this week, I realised that a bug had been introduced in version 93 in the batsman AI that affected how they go about chasing totals in the early to middle overs.
In some circumstances, batsmen were not showing enough urgency and were allowing the required run rate to get out of hand.

This bug has now been fixed. My apologies for not identifying this bug during testing of version 93.

Match engine: Runouts
- runouts will be slightly less frequent in the early overs
- defensive batsmen will have a slightly lower chance of being runout
- during the death overs in a close run chase, sometimes the batsmen will take extra risks when running between wickets in an effort to keep up with the required run rate and successfully chase down a target. The likelihood of this occurring will be influenced by the required run rate, wickets in hand, experience, and how close it is to the end of the innings.

Match engine: Spinners and noballs
Spinners will bowl slightly fewer no balls.

End of season prizemoney
The rules pages were today updated with new prizemoney tables. The updated prizemoney will be in effect for this season.

Youth recruitment player nationality
When recruiting a youth player, if you select a nationality that is not the same as the country in which you play your league games, there is a chance your scouts will be unable to find a player of the selected nationality.

In version 94, the chance of your scouts failing to find a player of the desired nationality is linked to the popularity of the country. The fewer youth players that exist for that nation, the higher the chance will be that your scouts are successful.

ie the lower the youth player population of the selected nationality, the higher the chance you'll get what you asked for.

This should provide a small boost in numbers for the smaller nations.

Sunday Organised Friendly Competitions

As of version 94, you will be able to run organised friendly competitions on Sundays.

For Sunday competitions, there are a couple of restrictions

1. The competition must runs for 12 weeks or less
2. The competition dates cannot overlap with the start of the Pavilion Cup

These restrictions are put in place to ensure that there are no conflicts between Sunday organised friendly competitions and the Pavilion Cup.
