Match engine bugfix: Chasing totals in the early overs
During match engine testing this week, I realised that a bug had been introduced in version 93 in the batsman AI that affected how they go about chasing totals in the early to middle overs.
In some circumstances, batsmen were not showing enough urgency and were allowing the required run rate to get out of hand.
This bug has now been fixed. My apologies for not identifying this bug during testing of version 93.
Match engine: Runouts
- runouts will be slightly less frequent in the early overs
- defensive batsmen will have a slightly lower chance of being runout
- during the death overs in a close run chase, sometimes the batsmen will take extra risks when running between wickets in an effort to keep up with the required run rate and successfully chase down a target. The likelihood of this occurring will be influenced by the required run rate, wickets in hand, experience, and how close it is to the end of the innings.
Match engine: Spinners and noballs
Spinners will bowl slightly fewer no balls.
End of season prizemoney
The rules pages were today updated with new prizemoney tables. The updated prizemoney will be in effect for this season.
