First Class Competition

Post by Charles44 » Mon Apr 05, 2021 7:43 am

Tried searching for this on the forum with no luck, and I am sure this would have been suggested previously.

I enjoy the T20 and OD competitions but main love is First class.

Is there a likelihood of a 3 or 4 day first class competition to be created? Even if it is just available for Senior Levels.

Thanks

Yes it had been raised several times
There is the very obvious scheduling problem with this , and the management hasn’t said no yet, just possibly not yet

It is on our radar but we need to tidy a few things up we have first then move onto that
We certainly think it is doable when the time comes

I think it's workable idea for seniors at a club level. A slight adjustment to fatigue hits and the schedule would take a bit of working out.
Something like this in the weekly schedule would attract and retain a lot more managers than the current international scene which probably should be on hold til there are enough managers to have leagues in all 18 countries.

Not great for those of us with short attention spans.

I really doubt there is room in the current schedules anyway. That's the least of the problems.

That is the very thing we have discussed, trying to make sure we work on the relevant things time permitting

Could you imagine the scores in a complete mismatch!

Would be keen for this as Tests are the highest form of cricket!

Well I'd be looking forward to the absolute hissy fits when two dozen people get results they didn't want.

Hope you're not thinking of ditching the international scene 😱
