Painfully frustrating

Post by YorkshirePudding » Fri Jun 19, 2026 11:21 am

Can we please allow the match selector to replace a national player who has vanished with one who is half decent in the missing slot.

I've been busy with real life, and logged in today to see I will lose the game as 2 nationals are on tour and dreadful batsmen and bowlers have replaced the nationals. This is clown car selection and really hacks me off.

Can we please set the orders so they select the most appropriate player rather than a joke player.

This makes a mockery of games, I am third in division 1 playing second and it's just gifted the points and my season away because I logged in late.

It would be nice to have it automatically select the best XI but then theres no real reason to do much. Its not set and forget unfortunately. It's not like you didn't log in. you had logged in each of the 4 days leading up to your loss and you would have recieived a notification that your player was on tour.
Call it clown car selection but its not really anyone else's fault the way i see it.

Perhaps it could simply choose someone who isn't a dreadful batsman and a dreadful bowler to replace them.

It feels just bloody spiteful atm with who is picked.

Yes I logged in other days for matches. You'll see I logged in 20 minutes late to set orders that day. Because I was busy and have a job and my usual schedule got disturbed. Does it need a review "great game for the unemployed otherwise don't bother"?

Why let people set match orders at all, if you want to complain about "not doing much".. especially as a paying member it should be a feature to replace an international with a vaguely similar player even if not the best one.

I agree it would be welcome if nat players were replaced with a like for like. Player roles would allow that for members, but the summary would work as well.
A solution that was proposed earlier was a big red circle instead of yellow whenever your standard xi isnt set

Can't agree with this but one thing that does bother me is that when a bowler is missed for selection, the game messes with all of the bowling orders instead of slotting in the new player where the empty bowling slots are. Don't care if it's a batter or bowler that goes in but the orders that are there should be kept.
