TFT win Division 1, honestly didn’t think that would be the case at the start of the season being 6th in the ratings.
Have a glimmer to do the double, but will need to win and hope Inchigeela Angels lose.
Will need to add to the squad during the break given more players are getting into Nat squads and i do lack depth, especially batting.
Congratulations on the title! :clap
Cheers mate :thumbsup

An unexpected YOD title by the skin of our teeth on nrr. Not expecting to defend it with some good sides coming up though.

Topmen won by 6 wickets

Topmen Ruff Royals
Batting - Top Order 14,403 13,352
Batting - Middle Order 13,361 12,162
Batting - Tail 7,748 4,974
Bowling - Seam 15,144 (40) 12,074 (30)
Bowling - Spin 13,764 (10) 12,666 (20)
Fielding/Keeping 16,314 16,807
Overall 257,584 228,958

Not a great performance from us which is not surprising considering the ratings.

Elsewhere, at the top of the table, there was much excitement as a big win for Trevor Francis Tracksuit and a large ratings upset by South London's Number One CC saw Inchigeela Angels drop to second spot.

All that means Trevor Francis Tracksuit complete the senior double! :clap

Overall 227,352 257,959

was already relegated, but wanted to put out a decent side in case it had an impact on the title race. Decided to risk it and go with 3 quicks and my best 2 FM's on uneven/humid, leaving a reasonable summary bat at 8 and hoping for the best. Bowled first and did okay, getting the opps all out for 191, but felt it would be probably 50 or so too many with our batting lineup. Fortunately for us Whitworth played a blinder with an unbeaten 93 (117), ably supported by Kouyate with a patient 42 (66) in an unbeaten 95 run partnership to give us a 6 wicket win. Moves us up one place to 7th to finish things off, and overall a decent season with relegation being what I always expected. As Spark says the big news is with TFT winning their game, this gives them the title and the T20/SOD double. Big congratulations to Aaron, and commiserations to Jules at Inchigeela who narrowly miss out on yet another title.

Wasn’t expecting that at all considering the situation needed two things to happen.
A great win for Eagles clinched it me, owe you buddy!
Won the 1st division a few times, but never the double, so double delight!

marks marvels won by 4 wickets

A fitting end to a terrible season. The strongest team in the league, but a succession of heavy defeats left me 4th. Was by far the strongest team in 5 of the 6 matches the team lost. Genuinely not sure what the way forward is - bowlers don't seem to be able to take wickets of even mediocre players.

My lot have had a great season in this league; not sure I've ever only lost 1 game before especially in a league without bots.
Well done :thumbsup

I'm generally expecting a tough season with the senior side and if we only get relegated in one of the formats then I'd probably have to consider that a success. So it's with the youth side where all my hopes of picking up regular wins rely.

The other sad thing today is that with the form reset Delap drops from outstanding to reasonable form. It's his last week with the youth team. Can he go out on a high with a couple of wins?

Home Ruff Royals
Away Vivi
Ground Ruff Royals CG
League Youth Twenty20 1.1
Date 25 Sep 23 10:00
Crowd 9,537
Weather Cloudy
Pitch Crumbling

A. Bennett (rm) 1-0-4-0, C. Lee 2 (8b), K. Hotham 10 (14b)
End of over 4 (4 runs) - Vivi(21-1) RR 5.25

Not an amazing start by us; I'd have like at least one more wicket.

This is better. Two wickets in the over for Fattah.

Probably a good job I've got players who pretty much all can bat (except my number 11). Delap was my best bowler with 4-16. Bennett was my best batter with 52 (to add to his wicket earlier).

Fielding/Keeping 18,323 17,417
Overall 253,726 237,713

I was reasonably pleased with our overall ratings although that's still the worst in the league and there's lots of 250k+ teams. The biggest problem with the ratings are that the bowling ratings aren't very good.

It was a big loss today against last season's champions. Whitehead was the shining light for us with 48 but the rest of the batting was poor. The bowlers had no chance of defending 127 on a hard pitch.

really good win today. won the toss on cloudy/sticky and had a bowl, knocking over the opps for 79 in 18.4 overs, and chasing it down for the loss of just one wicket in 14.5 overs. A very solid performance to start the season with a few of the first X1 sitting this one out to manage early season fatigue.
