Nice recovery from your bowlers after the first 3 overs. Keep that pressure on.

P. Massey (lfs) 4-0-14-0, R. Fitchett 6 (9b), C. Curvers 44 (70b)
End of over 20 (6 runs) - Camberwell Carrots(75-2). 148 runs required from 20 overs. RR 3.75 RRR 7.40

We're just missing a couple of wickets that would really put the game beyond them.
Cheers and very happy so far.

With that RRR you surely are the real favorites currently, wickets will fall in a bunch having to chase that RRR.

I got a bit concerned that they would actually do it at one point. Specifically, after this 16 run over.

End of over 27 (16 runs) - Camberwell Carrots(127-2). 96 runs required from 13 overs. RR 4.70 RRR 7.38
C. Curvers 78 (95b), R. Fitchett 19 (26b), S. Clouston (rf) 8-1-42-1

Thankfully, we finally got Curvers out for 82 and they slipped from 134-2 to 163 all out.

Ruff Royals won by 59 runs.

Ruff Royals Camberwell Carrots
Batting - Top Order 7,762 6,887
Batting - Middle Order 6,048 4,909
Batting - Tail 3,189 3,114
Bowling - Seam 6,335 (24) 6,077 (32)
Bowling - Spin 9,249 (16) 8,035 (8)
Fielding/Keeping 8,886 8,407
Overall 128,969 114,095

Big credit goes to McCall for 88 not out and Clarke for 58 not out. Ball benefited from the run rate pressure created by the batters and the earlier bowling to finish with 4 wickets (+2 run outs). Once again Massey finished with the lowest economy rate as he picked up 2-24 from his 8 overs.

8 points clear of 7th place now so I might be able to tentatively play some more of my 16 and 17-year-olds.

Always good to be able to play the youngsters, I'm thinking of selling two of our 20 year olds who won't be promoting to the seniors. We already have 13 youths who will be future seniors , so it's time to bite the bullet methinks.

I like playing youngsters when I can but I think sometimes I'm overly cautious and stick to the better skilled players a bit too often. I've got five 20-year-olds who could all feasibly make it into the senior squad but I don't like promoting that many of the same age as some of them invariably don't get the experience they'll need. I think I'll keep 3 of them but haven't completely decided which ones.

Dry and Sunny conditions, not the greatest of start by our batsmen!

I tend to just promote whoever is good enough for the seniors, I don't get to be so choosy as we are homegrown :D

I'm surprised that I've got that many players good enough for seniors as 4 of those 5 are homegrown and the age group above were pretty good too. The non-homegrown player was a borderline member of the England 30 man squad and only cost 72k which seems a pretty good price now, especially as he's got 2 handy talents (Safe Hands and Gifted Bowling).

No wickets but I guess the RR isn't terrible for a hard pitch. We need some wickets though.

Paddy Massey?

Yes he is certainly a quality youth but unfortunately for him we have so many quality spinners, we currently have 1 x spectacular and 2 x outstanding summary spinners in the squad(One of the outstanding is my WS who didn't make the squad for the last tour) plus we have three all rounders who are also expert summary bowling!

If only he would have been around next season as our spinners look very bare!
