S. Hodges (rfs) 4-0-21-1, C. Baring 7 (5b), R. Capes 21 (32b)
End of over 18 (8 runs) - Gavs Boys(74-4) RR 4.11

I was a little worried when the first over went for 10 runs but we've recovered somewhat. Another wicket or two before the break would put us in a very handy position.

C. Moses (rws) 5-1-10-0, R. Capes 29 (50b), C. Baring 12 (29b)
End of over 25 (3 runs) - Gavs Boys(91-4) RR 3.64

We didn't get any so we now need to get lots of wickets just after the break; I don't want to be chasing more than 150 really.

won the toss and having a bowl in sunny/slow. Opps currently at 95/4 from 26, this pair building up quite a handy partnership!

P. Callaway (rfs) 7.2-0-19-3, C. Baring 46 (84b)
End of over 46 (1 run) - Gavs Boys(166-10) RR 3.61

I feel like we could have made it much easier for ourselves after getting the first 5 wickets but I still think I'd have taken bowling them out for 166 if it had been offered at the beginning.

Callaway was the best of the bowlers with 3-19.

Please let my batsmen chase this total comfortably and without anxiety.

blimey our opener not hanging about

0.1 6 Browne to Eze : A friendly full toss from Browne and Eze says thank you very much and muscles it easily down the ground. That went high and long over the sightscreen.

looking in a strong position at the moment.

Opening stand of 83 and then we lose 10 wickets for 75 runs. So a terrible batting performance overall and we're now going to have to turn our attention to surviving relegation rather than an unlikely first place finish.

Well I'm surprised by the size of the win. although it was our three older quality players that scored the runs and took the most wickets.

Home The Middle Stump Lubricators
Away Ruff Royals
Ground The Middle Stump Lubricators CG
League Youth Twenty20 2.1
Date 26 Apr 21 10:00
Crowd 7,635
Weather Humid
Pitch Uneven

We lost the toss and were made to bowl first.

J. Clarke (rf) 4-0-24-2, J. Hicks 11 (9b), C. Ingram 8 (7b)
End of over 20 (12 runs) - Ruff Royals(146-3) RR 7.30

Lots of wickets in hand but it never felt like we really tried to score that fast. It was a nice 71 for Mills though and Gera hit 48 too. I wasn't expecting this total to be enough.

J. House (lm) 3-0-26-0, B. Shillingford 55 (46b), E. Sekonyela 21 (12b)
End of over 13 (8 runs) - The Middle Stump Lubricators(98-3). 49 runs required from 7 overs. RR 7.54 RRR 7.00

It wasn't looking great here either. But there was then some good bowling from Bruce and a very economical Schneider whilst Rush picked up some wickets.

They needed 14 runs from the last 2 overs with only 3 wickets in hand. 2 wickets came from the penultimate over but at the cost of 10 runs so only 4 needed off the last over for them or a wicket for us.

The Middle Stump Lubricators Ruff Royals
Batting - Top Order 7,902 7,627
Batting - Middle Order 5,890 6,751
Batting - Tail 4,705 3,529
Bowling - Seam 7,647 (20) 6,232 (16)
Bowling - Spin 0 (0) 5,836 (4)
Fielding/Keeping 7,023 9,409
Overall 128,594 127,096

Panic set in and there was a runout from Gera to win us the game! :dance Ruff Royals won by 1 run! :D

It didn't make much difference to us in terms of the league table but it was a blow to them as they're no longer joint top.

End of over 16 (12 runs) - The Warriors(98-4) RR 6.12

Hard pitch against bottom of the table The Warriors and we need to keep winning to make sure we don't slip up in our promotion challenge. It's been decent so far but we need to get Arnott out.

Not sure we have the quality in bowling to defend this.
