D. Ridimahaliyadda (rf) 6-0-29-2, J. House 41 (49b), I. Dennehy 11 (22b)
End of over 22 (5 runs) - Ruff Royals(99-3) RR 4.50

We've lost at least one more wicket than I would have liked. The run rate is fine but we need to keep it going.

Overall 110,104 124,924

Result: wolfberries won by 50 runs

A brilliant 145no from 122 balls by opener Bambury enabled us to build a total that was always going to be tough to chase in the conditions, and so it proved.

Although we won't be getting any prizemoney at least today's win has ensured survival. Not sure we should be in division4 with those ratings.
You can't completely tell the quality of a team just by the ratings but I'd say they're at least division 2 ratings. My ratings are only about 10k more and I'd say we're one of the higher rating division 1 teams. Admittedly, it's probably not that strong a division compared to some previous seasons.

Not great but not terrible. 47 for Dennehy and 46 for House. We'll need to bowl well.

The Raging Speed Horns vs YorkshireTykes
League One Day 2.1

Weather Cloudy
Pitch Sticky

At 59-5, I figured we were going to bundle 'em out for a double digit total. But some stonewall batting got the Tykes to 149-6.

Then this happened -

That is a hattrick for Speed! Sensational bowling. The crowd erupts, Speed is in raptures.

45.5 W Speed to Laffey : [catch] Laffey has come down the track and tried to hoist that over long on's head, but instead it has gone straight up! Cruse has called for it and takes the catch with ease.
45.4 W Speed to Ingram : He shuffled across his stumps looking to work to leg and was struck in front by Speed.
A. Ingram lbw b. M. Speed 0 (1b 0x4 0x6) SR:0.00
45.3 W Speed to Sargent : [Yorker] Done in by the yorker, swinging into the blockhole on off stump! Sargent can't get his bat down in time, Speed doesn't even realise it's bowled him and starts to appeal for an lbw, before being mobbed by his team-mates.
I. Sargent b. M. Speed 49 (73b 3x4 1x6) SR:67.12

...with the last man out the next over for no additional score.

So the target is 150 - which makes me a bit twitchy.

...and as I type - our first wicket falls ...

....5 wicket win for us in the end.

Keeps us top of the table with a 4 point gap. NRR is 1.23 vs Danger Hotspur's (2nd place) 1.11 - should I pop the champagne yet? :think

McCoombe won it for them with 3 wickets when my lot were batting and then 48 not out as a number 7 batter. Thus ends my hopes for promotion. I rested my captain with one eye on a crucial T20 game next week and it may have been the difference today. I could do with a back-up captain really as the drop from an expert captain to a capable one isn't great.

Hard luck there - I actually thought you were going to sneak it, right up until the final over. McCoombe farmed the strike far too efficiently though.

Secured safety last week so went with a slightly youthful lineup today, especially with the batting with two 22 year old's. We bowled pretty well, especially Franca with 4-30, but the batting understandably struggled and we lost by 51 runs. Happy with the performance, and surprised we rated as well as we did, was expecting around 220-225K.

Ensured promotion to division one today, the only issue is that I was trying to avoid this and finish second! Oh well, I'll have to win all the games in the other comps next season as can't see us winning many in the top division!

I think my poor writing skills made it look like I'm in division 4 rather than division 3, but you're right those ratings are division 2 standard. Thankfully we will only lose two players late next season due to age, fingers crossed we don't get some 140K beast in the league next season.

A win, but too late for us to catch the leaders. Second is the best we can hope for, and that requires a few results to go our way next week.

Going into the match in first place but level on points with the team in second, we needed a decent win to keep our run rate advantage. It turns out Ffoh, the second placed team lost anyway, so this win meant we ended up 4 points clear and title winners! :party

We got a decent total of 147 with Galindo top scoring with 50 not out from 32 balls and Howe getting 48 not out. The bowling went well with Fattah being excellent with 5-5 from 1 ball short of his 4 overs.

Toss: wolfberries won the toss and elected to bowl.

After accidently promoting to division 1 for the 50 over stuff, we may actually end up in division 3 T20 wise.
Even if we win we may still relegate.

It's a huge game today as we're the top two sides and whoever wins will most likely promote. I am not feeling confident as I'm worried that me having two medium pacers will reduce my wicket taking ability.
