I need an unlikely victory or I need Relegation reprobates to win to secure my place in the division for next season.

We won the toss and decided to bowl first.

It felt like all their batsmen were on attacking and that 3 of them succeeded which was enough to set a very challenging target of 187 to win. Ten Dam did okay with 3-35 but the best economy was 8.5 an over which is terrible.

R. Lukaku (lfs) 2-0-18-0, C. Paton 19 (16b), T. Brown 34 (28b)
End of over 10 (9 runs) - Ruff Royals(73-3). 114 runs required from 10 overs. RR 7.30 RRR 11.40

We need a miracle to come back from here so all eyes are on the Pedagogs Relegation reprobates match where Relegation reprobates are just about okay with the RRR on a hard pitch but are losing wickets:

R. Sheridan (rfs) 1-0-4-2, A. Bettington 52 (32b), R. Whitesides 0 (2b)
End of over 10 (4 runs) - Relegation reprobates(75-4). 88 runs required from 10 overs. RR 7.50 RRR 8.80

It's looking like I'll need to beat Pedagogs on the last day of the T20 season to stay up.
Looks like its going to be an interesting end to the season! :whistle

South London's Number One CC v Broadwell CC >> Match Ratings
Match Ratings
South London's Number One CC Broadwell CC
Batting - Top Order 11,610 10,819
Batting - Middle Order 11,851 7,710
Batting - Tail 6,288 3,830
Bowling - Seam 12,669 (12) 9,847 (16)
Bowling - Spin 13,315 (8) 11,007 (4)
Fielding/Keeping 15,530 12,448
Overall 223,943 173,348

not a great performance considering the ratings difference, but we did manage to eek out a 30 run win which secures 3rd place. Can't catch up 2nd, but I will put out a strong team next week as it could have an impact on the title race and it feels like the right thing to do :thumbsup

Yeah, it's going to be a tough game. It wouldn't actually be the worst thing in the world if I got relegated as it'll mean I can try for promotion next season in T20 whilst trying to survive in SOD in division 1. That would be the opposite of this season where I've successfully got promotion in SOD and have battled against relegation in T20.

We were completely outclassed today.

Nottm Outlaws XI Ruff Royals

Bowling - Spin 14,908 (4) 14,482 (8)
Fielding/Keeping 17,385 16,480
Overall 247,304 233,509

I was thinking about letting Brown go as he's getting on a bit now but he's been performing well so I may as well keep him for the relegation decider. He scored 44 today and is probably the only player from my team who did well today.

We've got NRR in our favour to stay up but it'll be a tight end of season for sure. If we get hammered next week you could lose and still stay up.

Whilst I haven't worked it out, I don't think you're in any danger whatsoever. I'm about 0.41 worse off in NRR than you and I lost by 93 runs today. I could be wrong but I don't think my NRR went down by 0.41 so for your's to go down by more than that it would have to be some defeat for you to end up worse off than me and Pedagogs.

Having missed out on a promotion by 0.01 on a NRR a few seasons back id made a NRR note before.

The engine hammered you unfairly today but you dropped from -0.47.

Think that means we'd have to do even worse next week and you lose by a couple of runs ......

But a home match next week so you got a good chance, go sink those dogs.

I picked a young side too as I'm already promoted. It'll be interesting to see how the youngsters do especially as some of these players will need to be playing more regularly next season.

It was going well but we let the Calvino get far too many runs and dropped a couple of chances towards the end.
