Maybe because you were made to bat first? I can't see any other reason that. I suppose it could just be bad luck.

Slow pitch and I decided to bowl first. Can't have asked for a better start really.

A. Diaz (rfm) 1-1-0-1, L. van Serooskerken 0 (0b), S. Shah 0 (4b)
End of over 1 (maiden) - Pedagogs(0-1) RR 0.00

I think we made them angry!

A. Diaz (rfm) 2-1-15-1, L. van Serooskerken 8 (5b), S. Shah 11 (13b)
End of over 3 (15 runs) - Pedagogs(24-1) RR 8.00

Windy and Hard conditions today and away to our very knackered opponents, won the toss and batting first.

Should easily win today despite picking a younger side.

C. Moses (rws) 1-0-3-0, M. Birla 3 (7b), S. Shah 19 (23b)
End of over 9 (3 runs) - Pedagogs(60-3) RR 6.67

Topsy-turvy match so far. This match could still go either way.

End of over 17 (12 runs) - Pedagogs(137-5) RR 8.06

An expensive last couple of overs which I think means we're going to struggle to chase this now. I didn't really want to be chasing any more than about 140.

P. Callaway (rfs) 4-0-29-2, S. Shah 77 (55b), L. van der Westhuizen 0 (0b)
End of over 20 (6 runs) - Pedagogs(157-7) RR 7.85

I guess we've still got a chance but it was a great innings by Shah and I think he might have won them the game.

A. Bajpai (rm) 1-0-7-1, L. Avila 17 (15b), C. Paton 4 (3b)
End of over 10 (7 runs) - Ruff Royals(73-4). 85 runs required from 10 overs. RR 7.30 RRR 8.50

It needs to be these two to get us the win as the others won't be up to the task. We can't afford to lose another wicket.

We need wins to get us out of trouble so they're all big games for us at the moment.

R. Schneider (rm) 5-0-15-2, M. Khumalo 11 (26b), P. Huizenga 13 (34b)
End of over 13 (3 runs) - Staindrop Village CC(40-2) RR 3.08

Okay start at the moment on a green pitch but we've struggled a bit for wickets in the past so we can't afford to let them consolidate.

T. Ball (lws) 2-0-12-0, R. Cramer 13 (16b), P. Huizenga 26 (56b)
End of over 20 (9 runs) - Staindrop Village CC(68-3) RR 3.40

3 wickets for Schneider but he can't do it all by himself so we need the others to contribute with some wickets.

C. Chudasama (rf) 8-0-40-1, A. Schoof 2 (2b), J. de Reuck 29 (41b)
End of over 40 (4 runs) - Staindrop Village CC(151-8) RR 3.77

We didn't bowl them out but I think that's a decent effort by the bowlers. It's not a certain win by any stretch of the imagination so we're going to need to bat well.

A. Schoof (rf) 1-0-5-0, W. Mills 0 (4b), A. Evans 10 (9b)
End of over 2 (6 runs) - Ruff Royals(12-0). 140 runs required from 38 overs. RR 6.00 RRR 3.68

A. Schoof (rf) 5-0-26-3, R. Norris 17 (31b), S. Clouston 0 (3b)
End of over 21 (1 run) - Ruff Royals(83-5). 69 runs required from 19 overs. RR 3.95 RRR 3.63

We've pretty much lost this one, I think. My best batsmen just couldn't stay in so I can't see Norris and my bowlers completing the job.

Sometimes it's good to be wrong. :D

Ruff Royals won by 5 wickets.

Ruff Royals Staindrop Village CC
Batting - Top Order 8,115 7,802
Batting - Middle Order 5,839 6,423
Batting - Tail 3,528 5,070
Bowling - Seam 6,359 (32) 6,641 (32)
Bowling - Spin 9,388 (8) 9,059 (8)
Fielding/Keeping 9,003 8,779
Overall 128,240 134,070

We didn't lose another wicket and it was a great 54 not out from Norris who was ably supported at the end by Clouston who finished on 26 not out. Schneider was the best of the bowlers with 3-21 and Terry Ball finished his club youth career with 3-33 in conditions which did not favour him.

We have just sneaked out of the relegation zone on NRR.

Keeps us on top by six points, not sure we will be promoting but still going well enough so far.
