Hi Guys

I have created a Pakistan Super League Youth Tournament, feel free to enter. Details are outlined in the competition rules. I hope this will bring the community together to produce top class players. If the tournament turns out to be a success I will create a T20 version of the same tournament, so that we can have 2 competitions going at the same time. Hi guys

Just an update to the community, we have arranged 3 one day friendlies against South Africa, Australia and West Indies, the first tour will start on the 18th May so I hope by these 3 games we can get an idea of what players to select to tour, I am still scouting for players to strengthen the squad.

UPDATE

We had a friendly game today against USA U20 (T20 match) Dry pitch and Overcast conditions.

We won the toss and decided to bat first as we thought posting a good score first and get the opposition to succumb to RRR pressure.

Anyhow we had a scrappy and shaky start as we lost 4 wickets within 7 overs :wall W.Hodge took 2 wickets in 2 overs, Rivera dominated us with his amazing spell of 4-34.

The scoreline at 10 overs was 59/4, the second half of the innings we slightly pulled the tide our way scoring an additional 88 runs combining a decent and defendable total of 147/8 along with losing 4 more wickets. 17 runs coming of the very last over of Pakistan innings :o

It was USA innings to bat, Naik Fazil bowled a very good first over only 3 runs coming from it, from there on we leaked too many runs as USA where 78/3 off 10 overs. Azizullah Hussain took us key wickets as a partnership was building an where scoring heavy.

USA where still in control at this point of the game, we needed desperate wickets or be economical and force them into RRR pressure. However everything was going their way up till the 17th over. 21 was required off the last 3 which was very tense, it came right down to the wire with 10 runs needed off the final over.

We was very unfortunate to lose this game as we recovered from our edgy batting performance, however the bowling department didn't do the very best job either but still some positives to take away from the game as it went right down to the very last ball.

Our stand out performer with the ball was Azizullah Hussain (4-0-14-3) Economy rate of 3.50 which is amazing
Our stand out performer with the bat was Masood Bhutto 39 (30) hitting 3 4's and 1 six at a strike rate of 130.00.

Match rating are as follows:

USA VS PAKISTAN

Batting - Top Order 8,772 8,829
Batting - Middle Order 7,737 7,968
Batting - Tail 4,916 5,457
Bowling - Seam 8,523 (8) 7,999 (8)
Bowling - Spin 9,533 (12) 8,912 (12)
Fielding/Keeping 8,703 9,333
Overall 152,541 154,294

As you can see from above we was stronger in batting department but there bowling was better than ours. Humble in victory Humble in defeat.

To summarise - As the leadership is new and in early days we are still establishing the best squad, the leadership felt this squad was very strong and rightly so based on ratings it went down to the wire. We need more friendlies to establish where we are but then again it doesn't really mean much with playing just 1 game. We are struggling to find spinners with talents. We will test the depth of seamers in the next friendly game 25/04/20 against South Africa.

Kind Regards
From the Leadership.

UPDATE

We had a one day friendly game today against South Africa, crumbling wicket and hot weather 8)

South Africa won the toss and elected to bat first, we also would have elected to bat first.

South Africa started off fairly well keeping the score board ticking along, 6th over Naik Fazil bowled a beauty of a delivery J.Pelser gets a thin slice off the bat and goes straight into the hands of the wicket keeper Masood Bhutto. The 7th over Sarwar Saeeed bowls a length delivery L.Howard gets an edge on it and Masood Bhutto drops the catch :(

After 10 overs South Africa where 43/1 moving along steadily. The very next ball Sarwar Saeed bowls it in the slot gets some movement off the seam and struck T.Kusano on the pads a loud scream for LBW, the umpire has no hesitation in raising his finger :dance

A partnership starts to build smoothly between L.Ditchburn 40 (63) and L. Howard 55 (82) along with 5 extras they contribute 100 off 145 balls. Azizullah Hussain comes in an bowls a length delivery L.Ditchburn tries to give it the beans and goes for a lofted drive but mistimes his shot and is caught in the outfield by Jaleel Mahboob. (L. Ditchburn c J. Mahboob b. A. Hussain 40 (63b 4x4 0x6) SR:63.49)

South Africa start to make gains again until 46th over Naik Fazil strikes bowling a short delivery L.Howard gets an edge on it and the Wicket Keeper takes his catch.

South Africa make a total of 236/5 off 50 overs. A decent and defendable total.

Pakistan come out to bat, 1st over is a maiden as Pakistan try to get a feel of the surface and maybe ruffle the feathers in the following over.
4th over A.Madden bowls a slower ball outside off stump Islam Hamid takes his chances but doesn't go in the direction he intended and is caught at mid-off.

After 10 over Pakistan are 38/1 a stable start to the chase. Pakistan start responding well to the RRR.

27th over S.Shezi bowls a good length delivery pitched on off stump going straight on, Rahat Qudsi misses the line and is struck on the pads LBW the umpire has raised his finger.

From this point on wards Pakistan gain control and keep the score board ticking along each over with some occasional 4's, in the 39th over our main man Jamal Abdullah gets bowled. Leaving Hamid Chatta to finish it off in fine form and rightly so on his international debut scoring a half century.

Pakistan Win by 5 wickets with 4 overs to spare an all round sublime performance from Pakistan. We was expecting to take more wickets given the surface heavily favoured spinners.

Our standout performer with the ball was Naik Fazil (rfm) 10-0-57-3
Our standout performer with the bat was Jamal Abdullah 100 (117b 6x4 1x6) SR:85.47

MATCH RATINGS

Pakistan vs South Africa

Batting - Top Order 8,681 9,331
Batting - Middle Order 8,072 8,158
Batting - Tail 4,354 5,683
Bowling - Seam 8,815 (20) 8,938 (20)
Bowling - Spin 8,980 (30) 8,221 (30)
Fielding/Keeping 9,255 9,933
Overall 152,413 159,349

South Africa was the stronger team however as it was a crumbling wicket and hot weather it favoured the spinners, our spin bowlers did an exceptional job bowling economically and efficiently. South Africa had the better batsmen, seamers and fielding.

To Summarise- Pakistan responded very well to the conditions however we dropped a few catches this is where club managers could utilise this to include fielding training as it is very important. As they say catches win matches. Still a few tweaks need to be made playing different players and improvise for the upcoming tour.

Last but not least RAMADAN MUBARAK may this blessed month increase your Imaan, Barakah, Peace.

Kind Regards
From the leadership
