Hi Everyone,
I would like to take this chance to thank all the Pakistan U20 National Managers for there hard work in helping us achieve promotion in this ODI tour.. after missing out on the first ODI tour on the final match day by being pipped to 2nd spot by USA was hard to take considering we fought right till the end.. this tour we managed to secure our promotion on the final match day taking us into league 2. We thank all the managers that have co-operated with us and supported us, this is for you, this is for Pakistan!! We hope to continue from this success and help Pakistan reach higher levels. Our next focus will be the T20 tour which we had a minor hick-up on last tour.

Also i would like to take this opportunity to say sorry to anyone i have offended, i wish we can put all of it behind us and move forward together. With everyones support we can push forward and help Pakistan achieve greater success.. All feedback is welcome and we will do our best to respond accordingly..

Best regards
ABC

Salaam Everyone,

Welcome back to another season of cricket. Our main objective this season will be to help Pakistan rise in the T20 world rankings, we managed to have some success last season in the ODI tours resulting in us promoting to league 2 and improving our rankings.. we wish to replicate this success for this season and improve so we are in a better position to hopefully participate in a World Cup..

During the latest EOS update, the admins highlighted players ages will be corrected into Years&Weeks.. in light of this we have managed to keep hold of 8 players from the previously promoting ODI squad.. some of these players will be able to participate in the upcoming tour before being promoted to seniors..

Over the course of the next 2/3 weeks, we will be participating in friendly matches to help determine the best selection for the first tour.. the first tour will consist of previously capped players integrated with debutants. We will surely look into depth of squad and play fringe players to determine whether they are eligible to represent Pakistan at a higher level.

We would like to thank everyone for there continuous support and hope that we can achieve more together.. we will try to be more productive on forums in terms of posting match summaries after games to keep you guys informed as much as we can

Best Regards

Our first game of the season got underway today, it was a friendly ODI against Australia held at the National Stadium of Pakistan. The pitch was rather hard with humid conditions expected for the game, ideal conditions for batsmen to score easily also offering some advantage to the seam bowlers

Australia had won the toss and elected to bat first...

Australia’s innings got off to a bad start with wickets falling at regular intervals leaving them on 91/4 off 20 overs at a run rate of 4.55. From there on Australia managed to kick on with there innings increasing the run rate gradually each over, a vital partnership was formed between T.Bottams and T.Sarota to help salvage the bad start.. after Bottams was dismissed, Sarota managed to take advantage of the last 10 overs, ending up unbeaten on 85 runs from 75 balls. The last 10 overs of the first innings changed the course of the match, with Australia scoring 100 runs posting a target of 305/7 off 50 overs undoing all the hard work the Pakistani bowlers had put in at the start.. the pick of the bowlers was J.Numan with figures of 10 Overs, 50 runs, 3 wickets with a economy rate of 5.00

Next was the reply from the Pakistani batsmen, we had started off slowly but steadily with our opening pair of S.Daraz 65 (83) and S.Abid 57 (83) cruising to a 100 run partnership off 23 overs at a run rate of 4.43. At the mid session drinks interval Pakistan were setting sights on victory having built a solid foundation to push on from.. the scores were evenly matched at this stage with Pakistan being favourites due to the significant amount of wickets in hand. After drinks, Australian seamers came to life and started to make significant break throughs as the innings progressed causing panic amongst the Pakistani team, before you knew it Pakistan’s innings had catapulted from 128/1 to 235 all out off 48.3overs resulting in Australia winning by 70 runs with the pick of the bowlers being D.Neeson 9.3 Overs, 57 runs, 4 wickets with a economy rate of 6.00

There was plenty of positives to take from the first game back, the starting XI was largely inexperienced filled with many players putting on the Pakistani jersey for the first time.

Team selection:
1. Shahnawaz Daraz
2. Saleem Abid
3. Younis Khan
4. Jaffar Shad
5. Shamsher Abdullah
6. Qazi Mulla (WK)
7. Daniyal Iftikhar (C)

2nd friendly of the season was played against England at the home of cricket, Lord’s. A slow pitch was prepared with overcast conditions expected.

England won the toss and elected to bat first

England’s opener’s got off to a great start building a solid foundation to push on from with the first wicket falling in the 16th over with 83 runs on the board, A.Aamer getting the breakthrough on his debut. Pakistan managed to take another two wickets in the following 6 overs with M.Sadaf and J.Bari getting in in the act before England eased to drinks break with the score on 138/3 off 25 overs at a run rate of 5.52. After drinks, England’s batmen were looking to capitalise on a great start, slowly and steadily moving along only for disaster to strike with 3 wickets falling in 3 overs leaving them stranded on 173/6 off 33 overs with the 2 set batsmen being dismissed and 17 overs to go. Pakistan slowly started the see the momentum swing there way, the bowlers were trying hard to restrict England as best as they could and reaped the rewards for there efforts by restricting England to 245/10 off 46 overs at a run rate of 5.33 with J.Bari, M.Sadaf & A.Aamer grabbing 3 wickets each for pakistan and opener A.Nye top scoring with the bat for England with his innings of 49 (69) at the start.

After lunch break Pakistan came out to bat, they got off to slow start with the openers taking there time settling into the crease slowly ticking on before the first wicket fell in the 13th over, the score on 44 with a run rate of 3.14. Pakistan continued to pace themselves before losing another wicket in the 18th over, this time it was the captain of Pakistan being dismissed for a 8 ball duck, failing to contribute to the score. In the 20th over, opener S.Daraz scored his 2nd consecutive half century off 72 balls guiding Pakistan to drinks breaks with the score on 93/2 off 25 overs with a run rate of 3.72. After drinks a solid partnership was formed between opener S.Daraz and F.Asad as they withstood the pressure from the England bowlers after the break, F.Asad reached his first half century on debut in 58 balls coinciding with there 100 run partnership off 123 balls in the 39th over. This magnificent partnership came to an end in the 41st over sparking a late batting collapse with a further 4 wickets falling in the next 4 overs, G.Blake of England bagging himself a 5 wicket haul leaving Pakistan requiring 53 runs from 5 overs with 3 wickets to spare. Pakistans tail fought right till the end only to lose the game by 11 runs losing 2 more wickets in the last 2 overs of the game with G.Blake grabbing his 6th wicket of the game.

Much more positive game from Pakistan, the bowlers did well in restricting England after their great start by bowling them all out followed by some brilliant individual batting performances. The negative was the batting collapse, 2nd in as many days but the journey continues.. a few more players made their International Debuts.
