The eleven they played against you in your last fixture all still at the club when I checked early in the week!

Final - Saturday Matches
YOD 3
Sherlocked 12 Vs United XI
Overcast Slow
Last time out United XI overcome a 6k match rating difference to get the upset and win by 76 runs.
As far as I can tell no players have aged up since that match.
This was a nailbiting thriller but how the hell did I overrate by 558 points after being under 100k throughout the season... The win was awesome just to be disheartened by the ratings :/

Simple equation on Sunday

3 matches.
Whichever franchise wins 2 of them or more. Wins the Title.

PSL 12 Round 5: Ratings in Review

Hello one, hello all! The PSL final is well and truly underway and I thought I should probably catch up on these before the winner is announced. Yes, of course I was going to get back on track. And no, that doesn't make me a hero. I'm just like everyone else (as hard to believe as that is). The last review was for round 4- where, surprisingly, no team overrated. Round 5 brought us all back to reality though, with multiple instances of teams going over. A stark reminder that all good things come to an end. Sometimes you just have to accept that life is mostly just alright, with the odd great moment scattered here and there. The mantra of any decent PSL analyst (and marriage counselor, coincidentally).
Here is the overview (Platinum and YOD 1 not included as they are 'free' categories):

Image

Quetta Gladiators vs Dera Ghazi Khan Stars:

Dera Ghazi Khan Stars did a number of things wrong which led to their nightmare PSL. However, you can't fault them for consistency. Once again, they provided us with an overrating.
Gold: Al Khobar Falcons (MOD-wmchamps) vs Married Eleven (nadeemkhan)
DGKS' PSL began with their captain in an epic battle against his own ratings. DGKS' PSL ended with their captain in an epic battle against his own ratings. He lost both battles. Like before, the overrating led to the match result being overturned and handed to the opponent on a gold platter.

Karachi Kings vs Rawalpindi Rapids:

Two of the three instances of overrating did not have an effect on the match/round result in the Karachi vs Rawalpindi contest. However, in the remaining match, it led to the result being overturned. Once again, it was the Rapids shooting themselves in the foot. It has been that kind of a league for them.
Diamond: amsterdammer (paulc) vs Caterham Crusaders (Bustergut)
amsterdammer would have felt quite hard done by with an overturned result since they only overrated by the thinnest of margins (250,029). Luckily, their opponent won the match anyway so no such heartbreak.
Silver: Boundary Boys (ukbwleague) vs Clipstone CC (Snowy83)
The situation was the same for Clipstone CC. They overrated but the match was lost anyway. Not even ferocious quick (whose very name causes batsmen to tremble) Mathew Mitten, could stop what turned out to be a comfortable chase for Boundary Boys.
YOD 3: United XI (MOD-quirkilyalive) vs Karachi Koalas (GMK97)
Karachi Koalas overrated by just 115 in round 3. This time they overrated by 9606. More is not always better but you try telling that to a koala.

PSL 12 Semi-Final: Ratings in Review

Greetings to all my PSL fans- I mean friends. Ehem. I have returned with your ratings update for the PSL semi-final. Yes, the work of a match referee is noble, yet often thankless. Still, it's yet another week which makes putting in the time all worth it (not really >.>). Yes, another round where no team overrated. One would think knockout rounds bring the best out of the franchises but usually they lead to things falling apart in the PSL. Hence, this return to form was great to see. Not to mention, the semi-final itself became a tale of two teams fighting against the odds to overcome the favorites and make the final. So, a feel-good week for the league.
Here is the overview (Platinum and YOD 1 not included as they are 'free' categories):

Image

Well, with that we move onto the all important final! Six weeks of intense competition and it all comes down to this. Will we see another week of discipline. One would think so. Overrating is always unfortunate but in the final it will be especially difficult to accept. Let's see how the finalists cope.

Addendum:

Yes. Rejoice! The random moose facts have been brought back for the knockout rounds. It is only natural, as they say.

Semi-Final Random Moose Fact: Male and female moose both have 'dewlaps' or a hanging bell or dangling fold of skin underneath their jaws. The exact function remains a mystery- however, theories suggest that it is some sort of a fitness 'signal' during mating selection. And no, don't use that fact to try and justify your own double chin. It's not the same.

Congratulations to Quetta Gladiators for winning the title. That's quite a comeback story.

Well played to the Karachi managers as well. Hard luck for the final but you guys had a good league otherwise.

Looking forward to the final write-up of this season's competition but I appreciate the help from TDC, Shahzaday11, and MrMoose along with all the captains and our fellow sponsor MuslimDave.

Also we are incorporating the Markhor (Closest thing to a moose found in Pakistan) as the PSL mascot from next season onwards.
