Season 46 League and MKMC

Post by GM-crowfan65 » Wed Nov 04, 2020 5:32 am

ok join in here for Season 46 league and MKMC

SOD 1.1

Lots of questions here as you would expect from SOD1.1
Will last season's double winner Boscorp back it up here?
Will Hacks get back to the top of the tree like season's past?
Can Blaze find some better form and challenge harder this season?
Can Rugglers and Plaatkoek keep up after promoting?
Lots more can be raised with Royal Aero, perennial challenger Tempest and can the ever improving Staples win a div 1.1 title in his third country?

T20 1.1

Ok so 3 different teams from SOD here with underdogs, Stats galore and Quad
T20 can be a bit of a luckfest and often becomes a 'throw a blanket over them' when trying to decide a winner
Boscorp, Hacks and Tempest strong chances but really the other 5 could make it an interesting season

YOD 1.1

Now the important stuff, the powerhouse Krack'd side will be going for 4 in a row :D but both Justice League and Gazza's will be strong challengers. The gap to the other 5 is big enough to suggest they will form top 3 but with the ever changing nature of youths now you can not be totally sure. And of course those pesky Nat call-ups too.

YT20 1.1

Finally the first season of Div 1.1 for YT20. Again the top 3 sides of Krack'd, Justice League and Gazza will be the serious challengers with the others hoping for some upsets and some weakened games in tour weeks to push up to the top.

Tune in for the battles to begin next Monday to see who gets off to a good start who who is spluttering early
And of course the battle for the MKMC as 73 teams battle out with the rest of FTP for the prized title.

This season for me is the final youth season of a youth team that has taken me about 8 seasons to build (four seasons of saving money) and then buying up star 16 year olds. I will only lose one player this season but he is being replaced by another player with a red star and they will peak at around week 14. needles to say anything less than a double championship in the youths will be considered failure for me. Tour weeks will be tough but hopefully I can manage it effectively and get at least one win in those weeks.

Had a great start by winning my opening youth game against underdogs by 25 runs after losing the toss and being sent in to bat and totally smashed Crowfans championship team The Krack'd with 89 runs in an away game for me. Defenitly gives me the inside line as Crowfan is my biggest challenger for the youths.

Using the senior games to get experience for the younger guys for one more season to ensure i can stay competitive next season before i take the Superhero's on to the senior scene.

Not a chance I can win 1.1 this season. Will take everything I have to stay up as I've had to rebuild. I have an awesome group of 20-23yo's, but they are not ready for 1.1. Hoping to sneak 6th!

WEEK 1

Youth T20 2.2

Lost to Brilliance by 23 runs

Started well, had them 3/60 off the first 10. Went awful after that. Their number six bludgeoned 62 off 30 and propelled them to 156. My opener carried his bat with 66 not out but we never looked close.

T20 1.1

Defeated Plaatkoek by six wickets

Solid bowling performance as we restricted them to 108 from their 20. Have struggled against Kyle from them before and he took 4 early wickets that had me right on the back foot. Fortunately Ongarello at 5 stepped up with a vital 65 n.o. off just 44 balls and made the win look much more comfortable than it was in actuality.

Youth 3.3

Defeated east_View United by 51 runs

Another game where the result looked more flattering than it probably was. Looked in trouble at 5/108 but my lower order was able to contribute 20s and got us up to 196. They started fairly well in response but after four no one made over double figures and they fell a fair way short. Was happy with my ratings but it looks like a pretty strong league so will be tough to get back to div 2. Should be a fun league.

One Day 1.1

Defeated Plaatkoek by 4 wickets

Second game against Plaatkoek for the week and it was another tight battle. Things were looking tough in their innings as they’d reached 4/167 with 15 overs to go but we wrestled our way back in to get them all out for 203. Were cruising at 1/134 in our innings before we stumbled ourselves but a 37 run 7th wicket partnership saw us through.

SOD1.1
Upset of the week goes to St Rugglers.
With one of the youngest squads in the comp they held it together to chase down a decent target in style. With Blaze Of Glory going down as well in week one it looks to be an exciting season.
Meanwhile my lads need a decent psychologist to get motivated.

WEEK 2

Youth T20 2.2

Defeated Raptors by 75 runs

Comfortable win to get myself on the board this season.

T20 1.1

Defeated Stats Galore by ten wickets

Really easy game as Stats Galore played a lot of youths and young players.

Youth 3.3

Tied with Illawarra Dragons CC

Have no idea how I came away with a result in this one. Dry is not a great pitch for my side at the moment and their batsman absolutely punished my bowling lineup and made 258. Was really impressed with my batsman to keep us close and my opener made 110 but when we needed 40 off three I thought it was over. An incredible 17 off the last over got me to a tie. They missed seven fielding checks (including three in the last five overs). Will take the result but definitely undeserved.

One Day 1.1

Defeated Blaze of Glory by 9 runs

Don’t have a great record against Blaze of Glory since I made it back in the top division, in fact they’d won all three encounters at home. I got off to a great start with 2/107 in the first 20 overs, had a bit of a collapse during the middle overs and ended up with 212 which I would’ve taken at the start of the innings but felt like I could have had more. They looked good for most of the chase but our team was able to get wickets at important times. Five of their bats made over 20 but none made more than 35. One of those guys go on and make 50+ and they probably get home. Dropped five catches which I thought would be costly but got lucky.

This season has started off more or less as expected, but I haven't enjoyed the nature of the defeats in OD 1.1.

Tempest Boscorp Cross XI
Batting - Top Order 13,673 14,512
Batting - Middle Order 11,378 9,236
Batting - Tail 4,888 5,160
Bowling - Seam 13,336 (20) 13,975 (40)
Bowling - Spin 14,011 (30) 11,425 (10)
Fielding/Keeping 16,088 16,557
Overall 231,844 227,472

Hats off to Boscorp for this one - away game on a dry deck with only one spinner to my three, outrated and still pulled off the win. Nicely done.

SOD1 looks set for another very competitive season.
2 games in see heavyweights Golden Hacks and Chodas Champions undefeated in the build up to their big clash in round 5. Meanwhile both Blaze Of Glory and Staples015 must be feeling starved for a win after a tough start and are set to battle it out next round.
My fellas are feeling the heat from their younger counterparts and a mid table finish is a more likely conclusion this season.
T20 1.1 is a different story with the table split evenly. With 4 teams each undefeated it may take a few more rounds before we have a an established leader although Golden Hacks are looking set to hold together with some strong form this season.
