Its not just affiliates in SA. its a world wide thing and I guess its an attempt at a solution where the "random" allocation of nationality will produce a more balanced spread. I preferred the existing way but always felt recruits should match the country where they first play.(similar to state of origin). Whether you recruit 600 or 6000 per season for a country the end result is a National Squad of 30 players capable winning a few matches. For all the excess players countries like Aus, Eng and India get, they still don't produce excessively superior sides season after season. I don't think the upcoming change will deliver the right result, its wait and see.

16YO Players: 5 Squad Batsman (1 Keeper), 13 Fringe Batsman (2 Keepers), 7 Squad Bowler (1x RF, 1x LFM, 2x RFM, 1x LM, 1x RFS), 9 Fringe Bowlers (1x LF, 2x RFM, 4x RM, 1x LFS, 1x RWS), 5 Fringe A/R (1x RM, 3x RFS, 1x RWS)
