West Indies NAT Season 55 One Day Tour: Division 1: Squad Announcement
New term, new season, and the Windies will be heading to Scotland to start the cycle all over again. They've bid Uneven, Crumbling, Hard decks as Bermudans, Australians, Proteas and the Emiratis join the Scots and Windies for the Division 1 tour.

Three debutants this tour, as we head with 6 seamers and 3 spinners alongside three keepers. Dane Small and Josiah Mason will be debuting as we take on another two of desert's lads. Trent Cotchin comes on as a veteran and his legacy as a West Indies U20 skipper having won the Youths World Cup and he'll be another solid lad to look out for this tour whilst Keith Joseph comes on in as a right-arm quick.

The new season starts off against United Arab Emirates tomorrow as sun will be shining bright in the Scottish lands where an uneven deck has been laid out for us.

West Indies NAT Season 55 One Day Tour: Division 1: Summary
The first tour of the new One-Day Cycle concluded yesterday and finished with West Indies finishing second-place in Division 1 as a rather poor performance against United Arab Emirates on the opening day saw West Indies fall 4 points short of UAE who eventually finished top of the pile and won the Division 1 honours.

A rather iffy bowling performance on sunny/uneven in retrospect as we leaked 179 after opting to bowl first. Chasing 180, we fell 0/3 immediately and were then barely awaiting the inevitable as a 80 run loss plummeted us to the bottom with horrid net run rate.

Day 2 was against the Proteas on another uneven deck but the clouds made bowling first a bit more favourable than they did on day one. Thomas Kanhai impressed with a 4-fer and the evergreen Cecil Griffith drew a crunch sixty in a 136-run chase as the 31 year old's patience came to the fore yet again.

Following day, we played the Scots and we allowed them to cross 250 on an uneven deck and set ourselves a chase that required players to play beyond their skin and the Scots to make more than a few mistakes. Josiah Mason and Oswald Cornwall played unbelievable hands but we fell thirty short in the end.

Our first and only non-uneven pitch was against the Aussies, where we were playing on a crumbler. The dibbly-dobbler trundles were the biggest threat for us as the medium pacer picked up 4 scalps. but impressive thirties from Ordelmo Watt and Walter Frederick took us to 143. Ordelmo Watt impressed with the new ball duties as he picked up three scalps despite being taken for a few. Dane Small and Abdul Hakim Murad's impressive under-2 economies allowed Don Carlo Gambino to attack and pick up 4 scalps in a 17-run victory.

Day Five was against a side that had made it a habit of smacking us in the previous season in Bermuda, and Nizam al-Mulk was vary of that. He played a cautious 74 on an uneven deck with clouds in the sky whilst Josiah Mason piled on with 72 from barely 59 balls as West Indies got a mammoth 269 on board. Clinical bowling with Thomas Kanhai picking his 4th three-fer in 5 games meant West Indies won the fixture by a 112 runs and managed to overtake the Scots and Aussies on net run rate to finish second and scalp 16 crucial World Cup qualification points.

Performers of the Tour
Josiah Mason's had one of the most impressive tours with a brilliant 63 from 69 balls against the Scots and a 72 from 59 balls against the 'Mudans as the debutant has proven that the buzz around him as a prospect in the West Indian circuits wasn't just hype.

Thomas Kanhai picked up ten scalps in the tour with 2 four-wicket hauls and a 2-fer, which, in his five games, is his only performance where he has picked under three wickets.

Solid effort finishing second, hopefully we can better it next time around with the One Day Division 1 set to feature UAE, Aussies, Scots, USA and Sri Lanka alongside us.

But up next is the Twenty-20 tour, where we stand in Division 2 alongside India, Ireland, England, Bermuda and Bangladesh and look to confirm our participation in the biennial Twenty-20 World Cup.

Rainy day fives your thing? We'll be heading to England next week for the Twenty-20 tour and the hope is that English weather will yet again haunt England next week and help us out. India, Ireland, Bangladesh and Bermuda are the other four sides hoping for the same.

West Indies are heading six debuts in the upcoming Twenty-20 tour. Veteran batters Kenroy Eddy and Warwick Pascall come in with a contention for the upcoming Twenty-20 World Cup, whilst young bowling options in Andy Hampson, Lloyd Verwayen and Dadrian Polius come in to prepare the setup for a change of guard. The sixth debut is for a highly-talked prospect in the circuits in Nick Allflatt. Manager allflatious pulled and trained him alongside many more top-notch West Indian lads, and whilst he has left the game at the minute, his contributions are always appreciated as well.

West Indies NAT Season 55 Twenty-20 Tour: Division 2: Summaries
The Twenty-20 tour occurred over the previous week as West Indies finished third on the table for their third consecutive Twenty-20 tour with a scoreline of two victories, two losses and a tie. For the second consecutive tour, West Indies also cherished starting their tour with a couple brilliant victories, before losing a close encounter to Ireland (both of which I'll argue to the end of time I should've won had the wrath of the ME not shone its dirty face onto me), then losing by a convincing margin on day 4 and finishing with a tie on Day 5. Intriguing coincidence or is the game just torturing me at this point, eitherways, happy to survive at the least.

Day 1 against India saw impressive returns from Ahmed Sencer and Thomas Kanhai with the ball before debutant Warwick Pascall and veteran Chesney Persaud smoked a fifty each in an unbeaten opening stand.

Day 2 against the Bermudan side saw Thomas Kanhai rampage through the side with a fifer whilst Andy Hampson also had an enjoyable debut. Nick Allflatt impressed with a quickfire start in rather tough conditions to ensure the chase hit no roadblocks.

Day 3 against the Ireland unit, we were put into bat and Nick Allflatt and Josiah Mason starred with a thirty apiece, getting 107 onboard. Geoffrey Austin impressed with the new ball whilst Keith Joseph had a fine day out himself, but Andy Balbirnie stitched together 18 runs off the last two overs batting with the number eleven as he took his side home from a rather unlikely position.

Bangladesh on Day 4 decided it was the reserved day of the tour where medos decide to decimate West Indies, and that is enough about that.

Day 5 against the home side England was a game where the winner was surviving and loser very well could demote, so we decided to be better friends and tie it out so that the both of us could survive. Carl Charles' magnificent 43 after walking in at 31/5 has to be given its due credit.

Performers of the tour:
Chesney Persaud finished West Indies' highest run-getter with his 76, much thanks to his 70* game one, as he managed 6 from his next three outings combined. Thomas Kanhai finished the tours' top bowler with 8 scalps, but Keith Joseph, Geoffrey Austin, Ahmed Sencer and Dinanath Challenger were closing in with 6 each as well. Kanhai, Joseph and Austin also managed to be in the top 5 highest fantasy point gainers for the tour.

Up next will be another Division One SOD tour wherein we'll look to gain enough points and confirm World Cup qualification at the least which will be followed by the Twenty-20 World Cup wherein we'll be heading in as the defending champions.

Did West Indies just win the tour bid? And that on a bid that wasn't even worth 1/6th of the points we had? maybe too much insider info but the last few bids we've won have been worth more than 2/3rd's of our treasury so i'll rejoice in winning the tour bid and we'll ignore if the results do not go our way.

It is a uneven, crumbling, hard week as Meinkadett Arena and the entirety of the top clubs in West Indies get ready to host the upcoming tour over the next week on ten uneven decks, 3 crumblers and 2 hards.

Ben Matthews, a highly talked prospect has had to wait his time unfortunately to get the Windies jersey but he'll be the only debutant in our upcoming tour. Andy Hampson, Nick Allflatt and Ahmed Sencer have held onto their spots from the Twenty-20 tour as they represent the four changes in the unit from the side that went to Scotland earlier this season on the same pitches. Ordelmo Watt, Nizam al-Mulk, Keith Joseph and Geoffrey Austin sit out as al-Mulk and Watt have closed the chapters on their international 50-over careers and their service toward the team has been truly special and appreciable.

West Indies NAT Season 55 One Day Tour 2: Division 1: Summaries

Game one was against the Lankans and Steve Kanhai starred with a wonderful 98 but his dismissal sparked a collapse that saw us burn to the ground and fall short in what was going a smooth chase until said point.

Game two, we were up against the Aussies and Abdul Hakim Murad impressed with a four-fer and Chesney Persaud's unbeaten century meant we were able to get our first points.

Game three, the Scots wrecked ten of our lads apart whilst Andy Hampson plucked a six-fer out of thin air, introducing himself well on the international stage. Nick Allflatt and Trent Cotchin played a decent hand in an improbable attempt at the chase, and played appreciable hands.

Game 4, the Emiratis batted first and got hit by the man having an absolute blast as Abdul Hakim Murad picked five to get UAE cleaned for 172 with a top score of 37. Nick Allflatt played another decent hand and skipper Nichollas Rampersad saw the chase off fairly well for the second Windies win of the tour.

The Americans were the last challenge and Cecil Griffith took his chance in this elimination match as his 70 and Walter Frederick's fifty took West Indies to a formidable total and Andy Hampson with his 4-fer ensured the game ended in a victory.

The Meinkadett Arena also saw its ends renamed during the previous tour to Wolfberries Too End and Exiles End to honour their respective impressive cup runs.

West Indies finished third in the tour and survived Division 1. Andy Hampson and Abdul Hakim Murad had particularly impressive tours picking thirteen and twelve scalps apiece.

Up next would be the T20 World Cup in a few weeks, fingers crossed we go alright there.

West Indies NAT Season 55 Twenty-20 World Cup: Squad Announcement
West Indies have qualified for the T20 World Cup at the end of this season and will be heading to South Africa to compete in Group 2 games alongside the Kiwis, the Dutch, the Americans, the Canadians and the Bangladeshi brigade. The touring party involves only one change from the eighteen that were a part of the home Division 1 tour a couple weeks prior with left-arm lanky pacer Joseph Graham debuting and replacing quick Oswald Cornwall.

West Indies NAT Season 55 World T20: Summaries

Game one began against the Canadians and two southpaw keepers laid out impressive performances with the bat to take us to 141 in our twenty after being put into bat. Steve Kanhai hit 48 whilst Carl Charles finished with a wonderful 29 at 223.08 with three cracking fours. The three spinners combined for 8-41 in 68 balls and simply strangled the Canadian unit.

Game two, Andy Hampson began with a double-wicket over against the Dutch on a flat deck and West Indies never let go of the early lead. Abdul Hakim Murad picked four, Cecil Griffith scored a brisk 33 and Nick Allflatt fell three short of a fifty in a dominant six wicket victory. Dane Small continued being economical as his combined figures for the two fixtures read 8-1-25-3 leaking at a touch over three.

Game three, the Bangladeshi unit against us on a crumbling deck and their openers raced away to a brisk start. Ben Matthews, who had come in with a reputation of being an able wicket taker through the middle picked an impressive four-fer whilst Don Carlo Gambino leaked just 12 off his four as Bangladesh finished one short of the three-figure mark in their twenty. Failures from the openers had West Indies under the tank but Trent Cotchin and Nichollas Rampersad hit able thirties to take West Indies over the line.

Game four was the West Indians against the American lads, and Dinanath Challenger started by cleaning both openers for golden ducks. Thomas Kanhai followed his fiery start by picking his second fifer in five games as the lad continues to prove to be unplayable on his day. Corey Floyd with his two maximums hit 45 at a rate of 150 and took the total to 125 making the chase a slight bit tougher for the West Indian unit. Chesney Persaud and Trent Cotchin were amongst the runs but the West Indian unit fell seven runs short in the chase.

Cecil Griffith was impressive against the Kiwi unit on Day 5 with 36 runs taking the West Indian total to 96. The Kiwi bats were able to get hold of the West Indian quicks with the new ball but Dane Small continued his very impressive run with the ball as his tournament figures read 11.5-3-30-6, leaking at a touch over 2.5 an over with an average of 5. Don Carlo Gambino also helped with 2-10 in his four and West Indies were able to qualify for the semi-finals.

West Indies were slotted to play on the new mystique of an even surface against the Irish side. The West Indian spinners got smacked a fair bit as the Irish side got to a 170 and the West Indian bats were simply never in the chase in what finished the tourney for the Windies lads.

A decent season overall, would've liked to go further in the World T20 and defend the title but oh, well, an even surface's mystery did make the semi-finals a bit of a gamble for us with the orders so i can't be too fussed but we did perhaps seem to err with a few choices.

The West Indian International Ground has also been renamed the Caterham Crusaders Arena in the celebration of Caterham Crusaders One Day Division 1 title in the West Indian leagues.

Up next we enter into Season 56 with a Division 1 tour to start it all off in a few weeks. The squad overhaul should happen in a few days while as well.

West Indies will begin the new season with a One Day Division 1 Tour in Bangladesh end of the calendar month. Bangladesh have opted for Dry, Slow and Crumbler decks and the EOS overhaul has implied that there'll be a fair few debutants.

This is some squad, ten debutants. Three more debuting in the longer format as Verwayen, Polius and Graham are out to play their first 50-over international games in Bangladesh. Even more strange, this squad consists zero verdi players, zero meinkadett players, zero desert7 players and zero Caribbean Pirates players (as in not currently managed by these managers, even though they once were). An astonishing overhaul for the Windies setup with a lot of lads hoping to set their foot in the right direction.

Given the squad overhaul, we retired a fair few West Indian legends that have serviced us very well over the past few seasons, and we'll be hoping to breed a few more of a similar strata with the upcoming crop.

Wrapped up the first tour of the season, grateful to survive with ten international debutants. 13 in total for the 50-over format.

Picked up solid wins against the Lankans and Bangladeshi units with brilliant chases, whilst we were able to hold off the Kiwis by ten runs on the final day to survive and push the Kiwis down to Division two instead. Eventual Division One Champions UAE were a task too tall for us wherein despite a solid batting performance, their deep batting meant they were able to scale down our total whilst Scots, who were having a rough go of it in Bangladesh absolutely smoked us for their only points.

The most impressive returns were from George John who picked up two fifties in his debut tour whilst Carl Charles also impressed by showcasing the talent he has showcased domestically in the slog overs. Lloyd Verwayen impressed with his wicket taking abilities across every game as did Andy Hampson who has the West Indian fans addicted to seeing him pick up a fifer every tour.

Up next would be another tour in Bangladesh as UAE have hosted things out there on green, uneven and hard decks as we move from the spin havens in Bangladesh to something with a bit more bite for the seamers.

Another Twenty-20 tour in Division 2, but given the new cycle, it'll be crucial we set ourselves up in an alright position for the World Twenty-20 in a couple seasons. Moving from the heavy spin decks for the previous One Day Tour, we continue our journey in Bangladesh but at the seam decks they have to offer.

West Indies NAT Season 56 Update

The Twenty-20 tour went fairly poor, scalped two wins but we played patches of poor cricket and unfortunately see ourselves in Division 3 now. That throws a massive spanner in the World Cup qualifications as well.

But the caravan simply never stops, it only moves on to the better format, the one that actually matters, the one that will not be scalped by billionaires and their stupid leagues, one that won't have a five-game league right four days after a World Cup. sorry, that might've been misdirected anger.

The 50-over format tour begins tomorrow and we're heading over to India for some thrilling cricket on dry, hard and uneven decks. well, dry and hard decks, they looked at Hampson and took unevens off the list for us. Poor lad's not very happy.

West Indies NAT Season 56 Update

The previous week saw the Windies lads compete in India for the Division 1 tour.

The tour began with an innings of stop-start knocks from our lads as the UAE lads had us cleaned for a 185 and primarily cruised through the chase after an initial scare for them at 62/4.

Game two was against the Aussies and the West Indian quicks in Kevin Christiani and Jason Clarke managed to share seven wickets and had the Aussies cleaned for a 190 and runs from Kishore Dalton and Lakka Teepee managed to tip us over the line.

Sri Lanka batted splendidly in Game Three to get to 266 despite Cecil Gilbert's four-fer but Maxford Francis's ton at the top of the order and Andy White down the order saw the chase through.

Runs for five of the top six overshadowed the three ducks in the lower order and took the Windies total to 237 and Dadrian Polius' fifer ensured a hundred run victory for the Windies lads.

Game five was against hosts India and a victory would have had us managing a Division 1 title but unfortunately their bats blew us away and ran off to 296 and the chase never really clicked on.

Up next, would the 50-over World Cup, the venues and pitches should be out tomorrow. West Indies head into the marquee event as the top-ranked nation after surviving all four tours in Division 1 during this term. West Indies will be grouped alongside Sri Lanka, Scotland, India, South Africa and Bermuda for the World Cup.

Furthermore, West Indies have renamed the ends of the Caterham Crusaders Arena to Meinkadett End and Wools Wanderers End to honour the West Indies domestic clubs 'Never liked the name of my team' and 'Wools Wanderers' respective Matt Krevs Memorial Cup runs.
