1st game vs Netherlands on a Uneven pitch with Cloudy conditions.

Netherlands won the toss & elected to bat first.

The Dutch got off to a steady start with J.Hendrix and A.van der Gilchrist laying a solid foundation. Hendrix's composed innings of 58 runs off 89 balls and van der Gilchrist's brisk 64 off 71 balls propelled the Dutch side to a promising position, reaching 200/4 off 43 overs and looking set for a final flourish. However, a flurry of late wickets, including key dismissals of van der Gilchrist and Langeveld, derailed their progress. Despite the late setbacks, the Dutch managed to post a competitive total of 237/9 off 50 overs with S.Dhoni & T.Rafique grabbing 3 wickets each.

Bangladesh’s chase began on a shaky note with the early loss of a couple of wickets. However, a resilient partnership between I.Mabud and H.Singh steadied the innings. Opener Mabud provided crucial support with 65 off 88 balls & Singh's composed knock of 76 off 97 balls anchored the innings. Despite a little wobble with key wickets falling, T.Rafique 25* (27) and K.Rahman 20* (21) played vital cameos towards the end to help guide Bangladesh to a hard fought victory. Bangladesh finished on 238/5 off 47.5 overs, winning by 5 wickets.

End of Tenure Review:

During this tenure, we have achieved significant milestones, transitioning from Division 3 to Division 1 in both ODI and T20 formats.

In our inaugural season, we showcased a formidable team, propelling us to consecutive promotions from Division 3 to Division 1 in ODIs and Division 3 to Division 2 in T20s, positioning us for a World Cup berth.

In our second season, we encountered greater challenges competing in a higher division with a comparatively weaker squad. Despite facing teams with superior ratings throughout the season, we displayed resilience, retaining our Division 1 status in ODIs. Additionally, we ascended to Division 1 in T20s, cementing our presence on the global stage.

The teams efforts resulted in commendable rankings, with our ODI team achieving a notable 6th position out of 18 teams, accumulating 47 points, while our T20 squad secured a respectable 5th position with 13 points. Despite the varying strengths of our team across seasons, we demonstrated our ability to adapt and fight, ultimately concluding our tenure in Division 1 for both formats.

Out of the 27 OD games (including the World Cup), we clinched victory in 15 matches, boasting a commendable win percentage of 55.55% with 1 Draw. In T20s, we dominated with a remarkable win percentage of 90%, winning 9 out of 10 games.

Now, as we find ourselves in Division 1, our focus shifts towards maintaining our position in this elite tier. We understand that the journey ahead will present new challenges, and the only direction from here is inevitably downward. However, we remain committed to preserving our status and competitiveness in Division 1 over the next two seasons with the same determination and resolve that has defined our journey thus far.
