Game 1 vs India in Uneven/Humid conditions

India won the toss and batted first.

Our bowlers put in a good effort and managed to bowl them out for 152 and Liton Aziz was the pick of the bowlers and our Player of the Day with 4 wickets.

Unfortunately we could not chase it down and were bowled out for just 120 which meant that we lost by 32 runs.
Saiful Bishwash was the top scorer with 32 runs but overall it was a disappointing batting display.

Hello everyone,

Firstly we want to thank each and every one of you for training Bangladesh players and for supporting the team.

We barely missed qualification for both the ODI and T20 World Cups but we end this season with us promoting to Division 2 in both formats.

Our positive points were our promotion in both formats, and more importantly we were able to bring in some newer players and also have options in the all-rounder department.

Our negatives were that we had demoted in ODIs after promoting in our very first tour, but we were able to rectify this by gaining promotion in the last tour of this season.

Finally, the management team is always available if anyone has any questions or concerns.

Regards,

The Bangladesh NAT management team

Game 1 vs USA on Crumbling/Cloudy

We won the toss and bowled first, a decision that initially paid off well as we made regular inroads but some late order hitting got the USA to a good total of 214/8.
Sreesanth Prasad took 3 wickets but the pick of the bowlers was Liton Aziz for figures of 10-2-25-0.

In reply our batters could not put up much of a fight and crumpled to 129 all out which meant we lost by 85 runs.
Peter Parker was the lone fighter who scored 42.

Player of the Day is Liton Aziz for his economical bowling.

Started off our tour with a win first up against South Africa followed by a loss by the barest of margins against Bermuda.

Shamsul Haider led the bowling effort in Game 1 with a 4 wicket haul but he was well supported by the other bowlers after the hosts elected to bat first, and we managed to dismiss them for 142.
Our chase turned out to be straightforward thanks to Anil Patankar and Peter Parker who soaked up the pressure and deliveries to help guide us home for a 6 wicket win.

Player of the Day is kind of obvious as it goes to Shamsul Haider for his bowling.

Next game we lost the toss and were put in to bat.
We almost played out the 50 overs but were all out for 184 in 49.5 overs in an innings where none of our batters stood up with just one crossing 30 (Sreesanth Singh with 31).
Our bowlers put in a great effort but we just could not take their final wicket and went down by a 1 wicket defeat.

Santosh Gupta is the Player of the Day for his 4 wicket haul and 11 useful runs.

After 4 games now we are sitting on 12 points and 1st place right now on NRR.

Game 3 vs England our bowlers were in fire as we dismissed them for just 109 runs led by Ishant Patankar's career best figures of 5.3-3-11-6 which also made him our Player of the Day. The chase turned out to be straightforward as we lost just the one wicket and were guided to a 9 wicket win by an unbeaten 50 by opener Zahed Bishwash.

Overall 257,763 263,911

Game 4 saw another great bowling performance by us as we dismissed them for 116 with Liton Aziz and Shamsul Haider both picking up 3 wickets each.
However, the chase was not at all straightforward like the previous game, as we needed a 32 run 7th wicket partnership and an unbeaten 23 from bowler Shamsul Haider to guide us home for a crucial 3 wicket win.
Shamsul Haider was our Player of the Day for his all-round efforts,

Apologies for the delay in the Game 5 report

Final game we won the toss and batted first which did not go well for us.
Sreesanth Singh was the top scorer with 30 for us and extras were the second top scorer with 15, which shows how bad our batting innings went.

We had a fantastic start with the ball and took 3 wickets in the first 10 balls, however the Kiwis managed to stitch together a 57 run partnership for the 4th wicket which just about took them home despite a slight wobble where we only briefly threatened a comeback.

No Player of the Day for today since no one really stood out.

First match of the T20 World Cup was against the Netherlands.

They won the toss and batted first.
Our openers made a blistering start and then we lost 2 wickets in 4 balls, after which Anil Patankar and Sachin Nayak put on a 70 run partnership for the 3rd wicket that set the stage for us to reach a good total.
Unfortunately things did not go to plan after that as the fall of Patankar for a well scored 45 was followed by 2 wickets in the very next over which led to the team collapsing for 162 all out.
Pick of the batters and Player of the Day was Sachin Nayak for a well-compiled 54.

The defense started well for us as we managed to get 3 wickets in the first 6 overs from which they could not really recover.
Constant pressure by our bowlers led to regular wickets and we managed to get a 38 run win.
All the bowlers picked up wickets with Ganguly, Jadhav, and Prasad getting 2 each.

Game 2 vs New Zealand in Crumbling/Windy conditions.

We lost the toss and were put into bat once again.
Our openers provided us with a blistering start as we raced to 48/0 in just 5 overs.
What followed then can only be described as a collapse of epic proportions as we somehow slipped to 87 all out and could not even last the 20 overs.
Pick of the batters in this disappointing batting performance was Zahed Bishwash who scored a quick 27 from just 17 balls.

We got a wicket in the second over but the NZ batters were able to pace the chase well as we could only pick up 3 more wickets and lost the game by 6 wickets.
Ishant Patankar was the pick of the bowlers and today's Player of the Day for his bowling performance of 4-0-21-3.
