Re: Youth player experience
I believe they do, but the division matters far more. If your youths are in a high division then I would keep them playing youth cricket.Marlinspike wrote: ↑Wed Jan 13, 2021 12:11 pmDoes youths get more experience when playing senior games?

YOD > YT20
OD > T20
YOD > OD > YT20 > T20
But I may be wrong?

Re: Youth player experience
I was under the impression that it had changed, it was set up to get more exp into youths when the game was first developing but am 99% sure it has changed and if all 4 are in the same division it goes something like
Sod-Yod-T20-YT20
But I’m sure Crowie will pop in with words along the line of
“I can not confirm nor deny that any of the above statements are either true or for that matter false”
Who knows..
You may be right
I may be crazy
Oh, but it just may be a lunatic you're looking for....

Re: Youth player experience
Youth* > OD >> T20
then
OD > Youth >> T20 > YT20
Youth* < Youth + YT20 ?
all players playing in the match largely get the same experience, there is some randomness I believe.

Re: Youth player experience
I thought it was mentioned in the s42 announcement thread that YOD +YT20 = slightly more than the old YOD. Previously YOD was more than SOD; never specified - so I'd be tempted to say that it is now SOD > YOD > T20 > YT20 (presumably Cup is first on the list as well). However the thread is obviously gone, so take this with a pinch of salt.
Also, just to clarify for the OP, "Does youths get more experience when playing senior games?" - I am almost certain that there is not a direct "bonus" given to youth players who play in senior games; just in case that was the actual question. Youth players and senior players playing in a senior game, as far as I am aware, receive equal experience for the match..
Will wait to be told I'm wrong!

Re: Youth player experience
You would think that a youth playing senior games would draw a lot more experience than that of a seasoned player in real life
But I can understand why it wouldn’t be implemented in FTP, you’d end up with 22-23yo’s pushing world class + experience and that just doesn’t fit in with the way FTP is set up and played.

Yep. For the sake of game balance I would be okay with YOD > SOD becauseCyrus wrote: ↑Thu Jan 14, 2021 3:29 amYou would think that a youth playing senior games would draw a lot more experience than that of a seasoned player in real life

1. Youths spend alot less time being youths than seniors being seniors (under the age of 30).
2. Younger players get left behind in terms of competitiveness (or abandoned in cases of teams who solely buy 30yo+ players) so they need a way to catch up.

Re: Youth player experience
Experience gains scaled to the exp of other players in the match would make sense to me. Could be done so only players playing a bunch of NT games hit legendary, and could help youths catch up a bit quicker without getting to crazy levels.
I guess the downside would be youth farms playing their younger players in SOD/T20 getting big gains early playing against more experienced teams in lower divisions. Maybe a soft cap related to players age could stop this?
