If anything it would be the cup game the week before the tour that the player should miss. (If they’re going to miss any cup games to be aligned with reality) No one’s playing a club match in New Zealand then playing a national tournament the next day in England.
I think this is the one which makes the most sense as it aligns with the suitcase icon. That appears on the Sunday before the tour starts but is gone on the sunday after the tour.

I gotta agree with you there. Just this tour on now I see some played both their MKMC match and day1 tour match on the one day. Not even a day apart. :thumbsdown

I kind of like the disruption it throws into the middle of the cup. But doesn't that lead to more 31-32yr old's being required to win the tournament.

Round 4 is fine for them to tour, its nice being able throw out the NATS to absorb fatigue but its not going to heavily impact the end result.
But Round 7 & Round 10 is the thick of the tournament and only further ages out the players required to win, and the winner becomes the team that has the best ability to buy older players at that point of the cup.

It may have a positive impact on the price of the oldies on the transfer market at mid season, but reduces the desirability for academy focused teams.

It would be silly not to take advantage of fatigue management opportunities during the hardest point for teams to manage fatigue.

It would be interesting to see. Some would go for the older 31 and 32 yr olds and others for the up-and-coming younger players, the 27 and 28 yr olds. It no doubt would have an impact on those clubs with multiple National players competing for the Cup.

They might start to then, It's good experience for them and there are some really good players coming through by that age that probably play equal to or better than the 32 yr olds. I think there are plenty of class players that don't tour that could do with the experience.
