Hi all,

I wondered what is the longest you've kept a 'starting player' - ie. one of the randomly assigned players when you start your team, as a regular first teamer. I am in division 2/3 England, and the player copied in below as been a regular for me throughout (must have been about 22yo when I started my team). No need for any comments that he may not be up to the standard! Just intrigued whether folk have had many players like this. I have almost a sentimental attachment to him now aha!

Ryan McCrea (https://www.fromthepavilion.org/player. ... Id=2104302)

Spawned in as a fresh faced 16 year old when I started my team (back before players had weeks in their ages and everyone aged at the same time during the end of season).

Retired aged 33.7, having spent his entire career with me and playing 264 games for my senior team.

Because I started at the early days of the game, my best for my club will never get beaten by any future players.
He was basically better than any player in the game as a Fast bowler who just wrecked shiiiiieeeeet up at a young age.

I have checked and I think the recruited line includes our generated starting players, so Mr Swann was apparently part of my original team 8)

One of the starting players on my youth squad is currently 32.09 and is the top scorer in both ODI and T20 currently, and is still going strong; he scored a 50 just this morning.

My first-ever youth recruit is now my current Senior team captain, is only 28 but will probably also have a good few years still if his current form continues

The 4th player I bought, just turned 33. He is in the top 3 run scorers, top 3 wicket takers, and used to be the senior team captain for most of his career. Though either this or next season will probably be his last, and I'm just holding on to him until I've saved up enough to get a membership and get him into the Hall of Fame.
