I would say probably worth firing him, you can probably sign a much a better player for no more than 10k.

If you do want to keep him, I would say get fielding to expert and then keep him on batting or batting tech until he turns 25, and then move to strength.

In terms of his training, I would be working on fielding for most if not all of next season to get it up to a high level (outstanding/spectacular level) and then going back to training batting as his technique will have at least popped once, if not hopefully twice in that time.
He isn't perfect for a new team. You could sign a 20 year old with expert primaries + capable fielding and reasonable experience for not much more than 10k this time of season, in which case why bother keeping a player like that.

Training fielding to spectacular would also be a poor move, it would just destroy any (small) resale value he would have considering how low his wages are.

T4aining fielding to spect is a great idea. Spect spect with except fielding and power at a decent age actually can sell for a bit with a talent. More then most average except except players do.
Completley correct, you just didn't read what I said. If you have got a good player than of course high fielding is very important.

In this case you have a guy who if he were to stay on fielding for the next 20 weeks you would have a 22 year old with a 3k wage, and accomplished primaries which nobody wants. That means he probably wouldn't reach Spec batting before he turns 25.

Granted it wouldn't make much difference either way, but if your a new player who doesn't have a forensic knowledge of the game your probably more likely to spend 15-20k on a player with reasonable primaries and a bit of fielding compared to someone with spec fielding but low primaries and wages.

Smiddie wrote:Why would he sell him once fielding is done at 22 or 23? And spending 20 weeks of fielding now still won't hurt the resale value. Because even at 22yo with accomo accomo the spect fielding will still stand out. Spend the same 20 weeks on prims and the resale value won't change much. If I was th3 buyer it would drop because you will need to spend 20 weeks well longer now at 23 to fix fielding anyways. And spot of people no fielding is needed and bid on player because of it.
Once you get up the leagues this guy would be no use to you at all, so you would realistcally get rid of him around that time. Most people don't have the patience to spend 7/8 seasons developing average players, they just replace there current ones with better players as they star getting promotions.

As I said earlier, for 22/23 year olds with spec fielding but only accomplished or base expert primaries won't sell for much on the TM. Although to be honest whatever you do wouldn't make much difference.

No idea whether to train him as Batsman, Bowler or AR. Skills are good for batsman but has 2 good bowling talents.
