Is go batsmen on both of them. Fielding straight to reasonable and then alternate batting and Batting tech for a couple seasons

What would your thoughts be on the 2nd guy training as an all rounder?

I’d stick to batting aswell. He make an ok AR but with dual talents he’ll make a very good batsmen :thumbsup

1st guy is easily a bat

2nd I would be tempted to go keeper but would make a very nice pure bat

Hi everyone,

Been playing for a while and my entire squad is homegrown but still not sure if I have 'mastered' training and was looking for a few tips. I have a superior senior academy and lavish youth academy.

Jagjit Phadnis India
25 years old | 50,969 rating | $14,858 wage | Left hand batsman | Right arm Fast medium | Slower Ball
Endurance reliable
Batting ordinary
Bowling exceptional
Technique exceptional
Power poor
Fielding spectacular
Keeping dreadful

At age 25 should I still be working bowling/technique or should I now be switching focus to power? More fielding required or not?

Majid Khairuddin Bangladesh
16 years old | 22,762 rating | $788 wage | Right hand batsman | Right arm Finger spin | Skilled (Power)
Endurance poor
Batting average
Bowling poor
Technique average
Power poor
Fielding average
Keeping poor

For 16 year olds I have always trained fielding to 'capable' before focusing on batting/bowling and technique afterwards until they leave the youth squad. Is this a good plan?

Any advice appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Yes time for power, definitely

Your approach for the youth team is very much in line with how everyone operates. I usually go to reasonable fielding if the player doesn't have a senior future, capable if they do

When do you usually start training power? Aged 25? For spin bowlers do I avoid power all together and continue focusing on primaries/technique?

Really depends on the player but I usually start to train Strength/Fitness at 24.

With spinners I normally just train fitness and this gives a little power as well, spinners don't need a lot of power anyway.

First of all I would train fielding all season, then it really depends on what you need?

If he were my player then I would train him as a per batsmen.

Pure bat from me too, unless you feel like he's close to popping to average bowling.
He'd be a very good AR, don't get me wrong, but he should make an excellent bat.

At youth level, you can probably play him as an AR and it wouldn't be a major issue, but in terms of training I would go pure bat all the way.

I’d probably go batsmen aswell. If fielding takes a few weeks to pop I maybe tempted to go AR for abit as that would leave more spares elsewhere

Thanks for all your help. How long do you train power for? Up to what age and then what do you train afterwards? If I have a player with day 'ordinary' power at 25, what sort of level would I expect them to reach if I trained it for 3 seasons say?

Thanks again. I developed an entirely homegrown side and my oldest players are now turning 25/26 so not trained a player like this before.

This really also depends on the player once again, I usually start training a players Power/Endurance from 24 and then continue until at the level I want,of course I train endurance to about Acc/Expert before I hit the strength training then back to primaries.

I'm no expert and it depends on the academies but I would say around Spectacular/exceptional.
