I think the manual is deliberately vague so you have to work it out for yourself
From the way Ash explained it, fielding was important to keeping as the game uses summaries for everything in the ME

And look at it this way a WC keep with reli field, a excep keep with outstanding field, who is better allowing for all else being the same?
I will give you a hint, the second guy.
So like I thought at the end of the day the summary is what matters.

There used to be a post regarding sponsorships at each league levels. It seems that post no longer exists. Does anyone have that information?

Assuming the numbers are still correct it went nowhere.

Thanks for clearing that up crowfan.
Somehow I'd been thinking a fielding check made a calculation using the individuals fielding/keeping along with the fielding/keeping totals in the match ratings.
Interesting that it uses the player summary to decide a catch. Is it a hidden part of the summary?

The game uses summaries for everything?

That's extremely useful to know I've been basing everything off individual skills

It has to use summaries to incorporate tech, form, exp, strength etc

With 3 extra levels of fielding and 1 less keeping I'd pick the 2nd guy also.
Would it really take the same time to train from reliable to outstanding in fielding as it does to train keeping from exceptional to WC (with all else the same)?
I don't think that's a fair comparison is it?

Fair enough, it makes sense. It's just more misleading than vague in the description for the match engine workings.

Also in the skills summary section of the guide.

It says that a summary a general guideline.
This seems to be understated if the summary is what determines everything.

Also would be curious if the match engine uses the allrounder skill summary set as well, and if so, how. Or is that the one that is literally "a guide" as both skill sets are covered in the overall skill summaries of batting and bowling.

Fairly sure it uses batting for batting and bowling for bowling the AR summary is more of an overall value to the team as opposed to just a bowler or batsman

@ 21 (depending on academy level) it takes roughly 1 full season to get from reliable fielding to Outstanding
To get a keeper from exceptional to WC would take about 20 weeks (rough estimate as I’ve never had a keeper at exceptional @ 21)
Someone with the predictor would be able to give a better estimate for the keeper

Does the summary allow for fatigue yet or is that a seperate thing?
No wonder no one trains anything over exceptional/world class these days.

In the orders page it does but not on the player bio page, that summary is as if he was fully rested

And the match engine uses the player summary, pre match orders or end of match ratings summary for a skill check?
Crowfan seems a bit deliberately vague over it.
