Thanks for arranging all these competitions. It appears that my team (Donna's Kebabs) can't enter as we "are already in a competition" with the same dates.

As I have no other comps (except the seniors on Sat), presumably this results from the entry in the main youth competition (even though we were knocked out in round 1).

Strange.

My fault, I think you have to wait until the draw for the second round is done and then you're "officially" no longer in the cup. I sent out the message before the changeover because it goes to both winners and losers.

I take that back, the plate is for Division 3 & 4 teams who didn't make the cut for the cup and Division 3 & 4 teams knocked out in the first round. This is to provide something competitive for lower ranked sides. Apologies but the Kebabs are overqualified for the Senior Plate, unless you were talking about the Junior Plate when my previous answer applies.

We are a Div 3 YOD Team, but I'm OK not entering.

Sorry again, I got confused because of the heading for the thread and then didn't fully engage my brain. Your youth team is eligible to enter the Youth Plate.

The second round of the Cup has been done so I believe from what happened last season that you should now be able to accept. I have just tried and got the same message; I also tried refreshing the page and clearing my cache - neither worked. It may simply be a matter of timing so being patient and trying again later but I have raised a support request to see if they can help. It definitely worked last season.

I think once it finalises in the next day or so it should be ok,

If not give me the team_id for each team and I can sort it out from there.

Regards GM-crowfan65

Please try again tomorrow and the next day if needed but don't panic I will pass the details of eligible teams to GM-crowfan65 to get sorted. Crackit

First Round
Note: Rankings used are as of the start of the season.

Draw
Insane Inglewood Posse (53) v Rocket City Trash Pandas (63) [Senior Rivalry: 0-0]
Blwe Scavengerz (48) v Babylon5 (76) [Senior Rivalry: 8-2]
Hammers CC (49) v Q Dragon Empire (54) [Senior Rivalry: 0-0]
Aripal Qalandars (68) v Zeugma Ferrets (72) [Senior Rivalry: 0-0]
St Johns Athletic (67) v Belmont CC (51) [Senior Rivalry: 0-0]
Crzy Tornadoes (65) v Chester Ducks (58) [Senior Rivalry: 0-0]
Xessux Club (64) v Western Suburbs Hacks (47) [Senior Rivalry: 0-8]
FPCC Ireland (66) v Dublin Devils (59) [Senior Rivalry: 0-0]

Selected highlights
Unfortunately, like the Youth Plate, we didn't get enough acceptances for the full 32 draw but hopefully it will still be open and competitive.

Apologies, to anyone left disappointed but maybe we can get the two Cups up to 64 acceptances and the two Plates up to 32. It will cost me more but it would support my three aims in organising them. That the cups and plate competitions:
  • Are representative of the whole league setup and so strong and competitive.
  • Help build a strong Irish league community that also helps support the National Team by promoting academy pulls (but that will neither be mandatory or enforced).
  • To add a bit of interest and fun, in part by achieving the first two.

At the end of the season please let me know:
  • Whether you like the idea, aims and execution; so is it worth my effort?
  • Whether you think these are being achieved to any extent; so am I doing it right?
  • Whether there is some way you might promote or support it; so are you willing and able to help in any way?

Back to the Senior Plate... also like the Youth Plate, this competition is all about new rivalries; only two matchups have met before and both games involve one the two highest ranked sides in it.

Xessux Club (64) v Western Suburbs Hacks (47)
Blwe Scavengerz (48) v Babylon5 (76)
FPCC Ireland (66) v Dublin Devils (59)
Crzy Tornadoes (65) v Chester Ducks (58)

The Hacks from the Western Suburbs made the final last year and the Scavengerz were quarter-finalists and these two teams look the most likely finalists this year. FPCC Ireland and Chester Ducks are two other teams that progressed beyond last year's first round.

Aripal Qalandars (68) v Zeugma Ferrets (72)
Hammers CC (49) v Q Dragon Empire (54)

Although invited, none of this year's new joiners who accepted made the cut to get in the draw (soory guys). However, we have two teams who joined last season (the Q Dragon and the Ferrets - sounds like a good band) and the Hammers who joined the season before; hopefully the Plate provides an opportunity to make them feel welcome and a part of the setup.

That's pretty much the whole draw but hopefully gives you a feel for the range of competitors this year.

Welcome to relative newbies and good luck to everyone involved.
