It was a good effort but not enough at the end. Mighty Aus and Eng were too good for us. If only our spinners cooperated a bit!

Other than Vaughan rest of the pure spinners were sub par on slow. In comparison among the top 5 wicket takers of the league 3 are spinners and none are from USA. Happy with batting and seamers overall though. There were a few collapses here and there but none too devastating; managed to score 190+ in tricky conditions all the matches. Seamers also had good performances - two 5-fers.

Hope we will get a better luck next time around.

NAT T20 Tour Summary

Here is the summary of the recent T20 tour.

The Good: Obviously overall it was a good tour for us, as we get to stay up in div 1 which helps our WC qualification causes for not just next T20 WC but also the T20 WC after that. T20 ranking also improved and we are now among the top 3 nations in T2Os. :clap

Individual performance wise Harrison and Nixon excelled. Both took 8 wickets in the tournament. Harrison had the best bowling figure, 5/12 of the tournament.

Code: Select all

Name BT	Team	Mat	Balls	Mdns	Runs	Wkts	Best	Ave	ER	SR	3WI	5WI
Adam Nixon lws	USA	3	72	0	73	8	4-22	9.12	6.08	9.00	2	0
Franklin Harrison	rfs	USA	3	62	0	53	8	5-12	6.62	5.13	7.75	0	1
While Tristan McClain, the captain, led the team with scoring runs in the front and has the 3rd highest runs in the tournament. Bravo captain. :clap

Code: Select all

Name Team	Mat	Inns	No	Runs	HS	Ave	BF	SR	0s	100	50	4s	6s
Tristan McClain	USA	3	3	0	123	47	41.00	110	111.82	0	0	0	6	3
The Bad: In a bizarre 3rd match of the tournament, team USA was unable to beat WI after booking them for just 108!108 for Christ's shake! That loss put us on a real risk of relegation. Not pretty at all. :thumbsdown

The Ugly: 50 run loss to the geriatric Team, the Nederland. While bowling did below average but batting display was astonishingly horrible! Need to further investigate on what happened there. I suspect brown paper bag exchange by some team members. We formed a 3 person investigation team for this leading by Philly.

The Heros: Seriously thankful for the contribution of Spark and Philly. They have done an outstanding job this tournament especially when coming back after the WI loss. Kudos to them :hug

Lastly, team USA would like to give a life time front row seat to all USA matches to one baffled critic! We apologize that it was so difficult for him follow (read) the score cards of USA matches and miss match winning performances. Hopefully, with a front row seat (with a great view to the score display) it will be easier for him to follow the matches going forward and he will not be baffled anymore! If he is unable to attend the matches we also offer to send him quality reading glasses as a gift stamped with USA flag! Hopefully, after this front page news will be reading worthy to the USA fans!

The lads are excited to start the T20 campaign and have spent some time taking in the Zimbabwean culture and have even visited the Hwange National Park for some team bonding which for some reason decided to change it's name from the Wankie Game Reserve.

Chinhoyi Cavedivers are our hosts and look to have put on an excellent event with the stadium very near to it's 22222 capacity. Team America fans our out in large numbers hoping to cheer on the USA to a win in the first game of the tournament.

We've lost the toss and have been asked to bowl.

C. Gallegos (rfm) 2-0-4-2, M. Dadawala 9 (10b), P. Shrestha 0 (1b)
End of over 3 (2 runs) - India(13-2) RR 4.33

Great stuff from Gallegos so far; let's keep the pressure on.

J. Vaughn (rfs) 2-0-17-0, M. Dadawala 18 (24b), P. Shrestha 15 (18b)
End of over 8 (10 runs) - India(39-2) RR 4.88

Time for some more wickets. Delgado dropping Dadawala hasn't helped.

D. Salgado (rfm) 3-0-13-1, E. Carter 1 (2b), E. Harrison 13 (27b)
End of over 15 (7 runs) - USA(70-3) RR 4.67

Need these two to stick around for a while or else we'll have no chance. The players don't seem to want to get to 20+ runs in this game at the moment.

Yesterday we couldn't take wickets, and today our batsmen can't build an innings.
Sack the manager!

Great work from Harrison and Bowers (with some crucial runs for Nixon and Berg) to get us to a defendable total against Canada; they were unfortunate to both miss out on a half century.

It was a good performance from the bowling unit too. 8 wickets for our wrist spinners but I feel Cochran's 0-22 from 8 overs was also very good as it kept some run rate pressure on Canada at a vital moment.

An important win. At the break, I thought we were 20-30 short of a good total, but our spinners performed beautifully.

Time to beat Scotland, who have won their first 2 games.

C. Auld (rm) 2-0-7-1, E. Carter 2 (6b), L. Avila 0 (0b)
End of over 4 (3 runs) - USA(15-2) RR 3.75

Not a great start; losing De La Cruz II is a big blow.
