Question to the USA community. Who reads this forum?

Would be funny if I got in trouble for not communicating with the community when we are the community.

In other news, we won the rights for the 2nd OD series. Perhaps we'll get some wickets that suit our bowlers a little more.

Just noticed that the 1st T20 against UAE is being played at my home ground.
I've reduced prices by 50% at the beer tent and bbq. :party
A shame that the authorities insisted on a drop-in crumbler wicket for the game. :thumbsdown
Looks like there's a bit of wind forecast, so adjust your fancy dress for the conditions.

That's cool. I completely forgot that user grounds are selected. Do you get notified by an in-game message?

I was bored this morning and thought I'd have a look through areas I dare not usually venture and spotted that we have the highest waged player along with the highest rating.

with this in mind i thought lets have a gander at how many millions of 100's and 50's this man of the people has mustered. To my surprise, internationally, he has only got 2 50's to his name and a pretty meh average (T20 average is pretty tidy).

Why do you think this is?

I think the problem doesn't just extend to him; I think there are number of our batters that need to perform better than they do. Last season, only 3 players averaged over 30 in NOD competitive games (9 averaged over 30 in friendlies). We're usually one of the lower rated teams so perhaps other teams have better bowlers and put more pressure on our whole batting unit than we are able to handle?

I'm not sure if I'm remembering correctly, but as a keeper I'd imagine Todd would have played more innings lower down the order at say number 6 so he's going to be more often batting with the tail. Now, he could still get runs like this (and I think his 50 came whilst batting with the tail) but by that stage he's generally batting in a cause which has already been lost, under heavy runrate pressure, and with bowlers who don't have great batting skills (usually ordinary or less). That said, when we've played him higher up the order he hasn't done particularly well either. I'd be surprised if it was anything to do with batting orders; I don't think we do anything particularly unusual.

Perhaps strangely, I suspect that if we had more world class bowling/world class tech players that our batting would improve as we'd have lower totals to chase and therefore less run rate pressure and players like Todd would perform closer to what his skills suggest.

Other than that, I've no idea why Todd doesn't perform better with the bat.

We had some bowler friendly tracks last season, but even so, if you look at top 30 averages for both series (we'd expect to have 6 of the the top 30). In both series we had 4 (and comparably 5 bowlers in each series). I guess this is somewhat self-fulfilling in the short-term, as we only look for problems when we under-perform.

Also, in both series, we were are the lower end of the fielding ratings.
