Re: Kenya Nat Team thread
So my first ODI friendly after being appointed Nat Assistant is a rather inauspicious start .
With 3 and 4 effectively opening we struggled to drinks 7 down, the end coming in the 33rd over posting a poor T20 total of 122 AO; 5 of our boys failing to outscore the extras.
An early wicket for Chudasama was never going to be enough to put them under any pressure, the only surprise from then on being it took Zim until the 30th over to get the chase wrapped up. One can only assume they had some dodgy sadza at lunch which caused them more issues than our bowling did!
Admittedly this was more about me playing around with the team/orders than going for the win but it's still a chastening debut; with more friendlies against the USA, Australia and the UAE to come prior to the first tour on the 22nd we (I) remain hopeful if not confident of improvement (hope for the best, expect the worst).
More (hopefully longer and more positive) match reports to follow.
Steve.

A great week that with 4 wins out of 5.. That 1 loss against the eventual champions cost us the title though but would take 4 wins a week any tourplumber525 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 14, 2021 9:46 amNAT One Day 1

NAT T20 2
The final T20 tour starts on Mon the 12th April.
This is a crucial tour for us as we are currently sitting in 13th place in the standings. With only the top 12 qualifying for the World Cup, and us level on points with 4 other teams (including Bangladesh in our group ) it's must win time.
Played in and hosted by Pakistan, all the matches are live @05:00 UTC.
The Matches, with hyperlinks for you to bookmark
Mon 12th v India on Sticky
Tues 13th v Ireland on Uneven
Wed 14th v Australia on Slow
Thur 15th v Bangladesh on Sticky
Fri 16th v Pakistan on Uneven

Thanks to the managers who've trained and made available the squad and here's hoping the lads can do the business and secure our place in the World Cup
