wasn't talking about your last reply, too many replies from more than just you are unnecessarily aggressive in tone

I'd rather have my keeper than this one, but again it's personal preference.
Just an observstion.
Your guy has a 25 ave and has 134 dismissals from 98 games.Div 1. 1.4 a game.
Clouston has 55 ave 205 from 99. Div 1 2.a game.
Berrington ( who isnt great but has two in game talents) 29 ave and 191 from 121. 1.5 a game.
Not much between your and Berrington ( who I dont rate) but I hope that his talents can keep him at the crease a bit longer.

I do look at these things from time to time. Obviously you could drill down imto thise numbers more, the make up of the attack, pitch types etc.

I need to balance as much of this but basically your fella having spect batting wont cut it esp now we are seeing legendary summary bowlers coming at them in unfriendly batting conditions.
That's true, there's no doubt Clouston is a far better batsman than my guy, however it's slightly skewed by the fact he's also an opener.

Berrington is also a better batsman, but not a better keeper, again that depends how you play them and what you're looking for. My guy has World Class Keeping and safe hands, so should seriously outperform as a keeper.

I completely take your point though, given you're looking for a serious batsman as well a wicket keeper then Berrington is probably the better player for you. For me, it's a different view, and that's why I'd rather have him.

However, I completely respect your choices, was just giving a backup option if you need it :)
much appreciated

Howdy folks,

So another tour begins down under in OZ this week.

As per usual the ftp pitch gods have not looked favourably on us and we have 4 dry decks in a row.

Not good.

New caps
Spinners Galt and Henderson
While we welcome FMs Thunder, Seaworth and Irvine to the seam department.

As always the ceremony will be handled by a visiting celebrity.

Skippy the Kangaroo will do the honours ahead of the first game against Pakistan.

Not sure what to expect from this tour, the Aussies have some of the best in the world while we have been scraping around trying to find enough spinners.

Tune in for more Scots misery, 00.00 Monday to Friday FTP time.
( I will use replay as I need my beauty sleep)

Mon Scotland!

Hi folks

So at last we can report a tour that came out our way.

Taken long enough I hear you say.

Indeed.

Four wins gave our boys first place in the T20 and should give the lads a nice platform to qualify for next seasons T20 WC.
There were four debutants this time with the stand outs being Johnstone and Malone who both did well with the bat.
It was nice to see some Vintage Newton with the ball and his Michelle against SA in game 3 was a particular highlight. In the same game Opener Clouston carried his bat with a very handy 96 from 66 balls to set up the win.

Next up is the final SOD of the season with the hosting rights being awarded later.

Lets hope all the brown paper bags were delivered on time.

So yeah, our crappy spinners did enough to keep us in the division with two wins.

Wooo!!!

Only three of our bats made treble figures with the standout being our reserve keeper Berrington who averages 55 from his two innings.
Our support staff are working with him to add some sandpaper to his gloves ahead of the next tour..

Bowling wise Matera and Thunder were our best and we are thankful to have them around for a few seasons yet.

T20 next and lets hope our virtual side and emulate the success of the real life lads who have qualified for the T20 in Oman/ UAE.

Hi everyone

Tour week and we copped 5 batting decks in our home tour ( I threw in a very low bid and somehow won it)

Here is the squad:
Screenshot 2022-01-24 215454.png
A couple of new caps will be awarded this week.

Batting

David Ford
Gerald King
Ewen Boak

Keeping
Strachan McQueen

Bowling
Hector Ferguson
Angus Dempster-Spooge

Ewen Boak will need to show some quality with the bat. His ave of 9 from 7 U20 matches doesnt not inspire hope, so fill your boots.

This week the caps will be awarded by Woody from the Bay City Rollers who lives near the ground.
