A wonderful 100 from Malik wasn’t enough to get us over the line with Canada powering through. We move forward to the rest of the week. Let’s see if the weather bureau have better luck with the forecast for the rest of the week.

2 wins from matches 2/3, put us in a good position going into the last 2 matches but we will need to win both matches to guarantee progressing to the finals.

Get the win today and now it’s as simple as win tomorrow and play a semi final.

Apologies all. Very disappointing end to our week.

We will regroup and have a red hot crack next tour (if given the privilege to go again).

Two YOD Div 1 titles in our tenure so it’s a real shame to not go deep in the equivalent World Cup.

Hi Veer this forum is regarding UAE U20 national team and not the appropriate place for your question.

We have a UAE League Forum set up to indicate movement to the exciting new UAE League. Unfortunately questions about opening a second affiliate would need to be directed to admin, as we sadly have 0 control over that.

Quick summary of our World Cup Week.

As we know we went 2-3 and finished third in our group.

Afif Malik shone with the bat, 200 runs from 3 innings including a massive 144 in the loss against Canada.
Isra'il Shareef also contributed nicely with 186 runs from 3 innings, including 95 against the Netherlands and 85 against England.
Wazir Mohammed and Bilal Omar also contributing 160+ runs each from their 4 innings.

Despite the humidity, Fattah (FS) produced 8 wickets from his 3 matches.

We thank the following players who have now played their last Nat U20 Matches:
Farooq Yaseen - The El Dude Brothers - 13 wickets across 9 OD matches and averaged 23 with the bat
Isra'il Shareef - Emirates Academy - Averaged 49 with the bat across 7 OD matches
Ziyad Zhuair - Scott's Tots - High score of 40 in 5 OD matches
Bashshar Bahib - Hard Yakka - 7 catches, 4 stumps and a runout in his 6 OD matches
Isam Abba - Riddlers - 6 catches and averaged 60 (thanks to 2 Not Outs) in his 4 OD matches
Jamal Ghafur - The Dutch Ovens - best return of 2/25 with the ball and 33 with the bat in his 3 matches
Kameel Hussein - The Nighthawks - 10 wickets from 6 OD matches
Qadim Latif - Moogy Meadows CC - Highest score of 72 from 7 OD matches
Bilal Omar - Buggles United - Averaged 45 over 14 OD matches and 49 over 7 T20 matches
Ameer Aziz - Moogy Meadows CC - 13 wickets over 10 OD matches
Qadir Fattah - Ruff Royals - best returns of 4/24 in OD (5 matches) and 4/12 in T20 (3 matches)

Thanks to all managers for producing great UAE products. :hug

Hi all I have been blessed with another tenure thanks to the beautiful democratic system.

My assistant Speedy has already kicked off our next round of scouting - we will be looking to add players for the next tour with one eye to the World Cup at the end of the season.

We currently have two vacancies for assistants. If you’re interested and willing please shoot me a message.
